Honestly can't remember the last time I was as annoyed with one of our players. The way I'm feeling now he can just fuck right off and never play for us again. No doubt by tomorrow I'll have calmed down a bit and mellowed over him but at the minute I couldn't even bear to look at his face. Hope he's sensible and doesn't do owt daft like try to issue an apology on twitter.
  2. I'm on nights tonight. Start at 6. For that reason I decided not to bother and watch on telly instead. What a wise decision. That just looked and sounded absolutely pathetic. Had a couple of texts from mates who were there today and they've confirmed it was absolutely dead again. Starting to put me off going tbh.
  3. Ian Wright just saying how disappointed he is with the atmosphere there. Sounds shit on the telly.
  4. I see Brighton have only sold 1k tickets. Looking forward to seeing 2k home fans sat down in the safe standing area tomorrow then.
  5. Aye Terry Mac sent off as well. Liam O'Brien sent off for trying to boot someone up the arse
  6. 91/92 was Derby. Finished 4-1. We went down to 8 men.
  7. I know you jest but I'm absolutely dreading it. Standard that we'll be welll beaten on the pitch, but we're going to be humiliated in the stands as well. Still going like but genuinely not looking forward to it one bit. Sad really.
  8. Hahaha absolute legend! Of all the characters I've met watching NUFC he's right up there as one of the most memorable. Glad to hear he's still on the scene.
  9. Reminds me of John The chap. He did it better than anyone. Never seen him in years!
  10. There's been a couple of games this season that haven't sold out so would be interesting to see how many of those new fans would take a season ticket if offered. As I say they only averaged 22k as recently as 2018 which is 4k less than their current waiting list. If a load of fans want to jump on the bandwagon pretty quickly like that it usually works the other way, and they'll not need much encouragement to jump back off again. Historically they are the 12th best supported club in the country. It's hardly remarkable.
  11. Their fanbase is nowhere near as big as people make out. I remember last time we played them in the Championship they sold out a home game for the first time in almost 10 years. They were averaging only 22k not all that long ago, maybe around 2018, and have never averaged more than 40k in their history. It's not a massive footballing city really. They do have a good away following mind.
  12. It's only going to get worse. Only season ticket holders can attend away games now so you've got the same pool of aging people going away now. They won't sell any new season tickets so there's no fresh blood getting a chance to go. Just going to be a downward spiral. Just been reading Keith Barretts rant about it on Facebook there. He's bang on, as usual.
  13. Actually I got mixed up there. I was meaning non league matters! Not sure about NLZ. Never looked at it in ages. It used to be an excellent site though.
  14. St Johnstone definitely have cos they won the Cup double a few years ago. St Mirren, Kilmarnock and Dundee have as well. Also Dunfermline, and Raith Rovers famously went 1-0 up against Bayern so there's another one. Could well be a few more.
  15. Haha sorry in my excitement I didn't read the email properly. Opens 12pm tomorrow closes 12pm Thursday!
  16. Sorry to everyone asking to buy the spare but I applied on behalf of another one of my pot 6 mates who's travelling down anyway so he'll be getting the ticket as he's not heard owt so looks like he's been unsuccessful. Does anyone know when you can buy your seat? I'm clicking the link on the email but saying no events found.
  17. Just had an email there to say I've been successful in the ballot. I've already got a ticket anyway but the emails are being sent out now.
  18. Don't actually know anyone who calls it that. Always been called "the ground". As in, "What time are we heading up to the ground?"
  19. Spurs will still be paying off their stadium for years to come. Regardless of the increase in revenue, that will always handicap them. We'd have no such problems there.
  20. No I've always been in the camp of moving unless we can develop SJP to the size and stature of a brand new stadium, in a good location of course. SJP feels really tired these days. It looks dated and the atmosphere argumentcan't be used, as it's usually poor. We actually got wet at the match yesterday because the roof in Level 7 had a bad leak. Lad sat to the right of me said it's been like that for years. We've got a once in a generation chance here and we need to take it. Of course I'll be sad to leave the old place but nothing lasts forever and the timing is absolutely right to move. A new 70k stadium immediately moves us into the elite level of clubs. It probably values the club at £3bn+. We wouldn't be handicapped with stadium development debt like Arsenal and Spurs were/are. All the pros without any of the cons. No brainer really.
  21. With every passing match I go to, I realise more and more that this would be the wrong thing.
  22. Was sat in Level 7 more or less on the halfway line in row N today. Thought it was absolutely diabolical. If the staunch season ticket holders so desperate to stay put wanted to show the chairman what we'd all be missing if we moved, then they fluffed their audition miserably. Once upon a time scoring 4 goals in an 11 minute spell, especially against the 3rd top team would have had the place absolutely bouncing. Not today it didn't. From up where I was sat you get a good perspective of the place. The SE Corner try. Can't knock them. There's probably 1k in there giving it their all. The NE Corner (between Leazes and East stand) gave 1 rousing chant of Eddie Howes black and white army. The Leazes End sang twice (after the 2nd and 3rd goals) and that was it. Level 7 must be the most soulless place anywhere in England to watch a game of football. Everyone sat arms folded contributing absolutely nothing. 50/50 decisions aren't appealed anymore. Bad refereeing calls not challenged. It's like nobody gives a toss. Team was shite 2nd half. Probably needed the crowd to help them through but nothing at all coming back from the stands. Bruno tried on a couple of occasions to get people going but he was pissing in the wind today. A new stadium can't come soon enough if it means a bit of a refresh. Hopefully some of the miserable bastards piss off and don't darken the new place.
  23. Non League zone is a good one as well.
  24. We're 2nd worst. Clearly a NE problem.
