Great to hear Jordan. Hopefully the club can work together with the fans to make sure all those from Leazes Corner are kept together, wherever that may be.

Wouldn't happen. Firstly, can I just thank you for taking the trouble to arrange to meet up with the relevant parties to make sure that the good work of the last 3 years isn't destroyed and that we can hopefully make sure these fans who not only give the team tremendous vocal backing but also the future of the club are kept together. Supporters like you are crucial to the club and in making sure we maintain the atmosphere that has built over the last few years. However, I disagree with you when you say having thousands standing and making a racket at the back of the Gallowgate wouldn't happen. 4 years ago I never thought I would see a section of over 3,000 NUFC fans singing/standing together at St James' Park but I have. Personally, I think the Gallowgate Upper is the obvious choice. Not many ST holders up there but i've also noticed that a fair few who are already in that section stand up all match anyway, certainly the majority in the back 4-5 rows and I think that the people already there would be far more comfortable with those from L7 coming in with them than those who are currently in Leazes Level 4 corner as the fans there seem slightly more reserved in their support to the team and would probably have to end up giving up their own seats to sit in a section with fans who they are more comfortable with. We already have those in the Gallowgate Corner who give the team great backing and I think that getting 3,000 vocal supporters in the back of the Gallowgate would do wonders for the atmosphere and would even get those in front more involved and would make the Gallowgate a very intimidating end, plus it's already the favoured end that the players like to attack. Anyway good luck with what you are doing and I hope you achieve a result that has everyone happy.

The Gallowgate corner isn't really an option as it has quite a high percentage of season ticket holders already and to be honest the atmosphere there is already pretty good and isn't really in need of being improved. The Gallowgate Upper tier I would say is the best option by far, not only beacuse it's the best designed stand for atmosphere but also the noise from up there would get fans in the middle/lower tiers going as well and would end up creating a full 'end' of noise rather than just a corner. In time more and more of the noiser fans would also end up coming across to the Gallowgate and to be fair it does reate quite a din from there when everyone is up for it, like on Saturday.

That's it cause at the minute you can't even hear the singing section so if they were say somewhere like that you could hear them again. Exctly mate. I was in the singing section last season and when you are up there it sounds amazing. However this season i've been paying match by match and always go in the Gallowgate Corner and from there you can hardly really hear them. They would be much more effective in the Gallowgate.

Can't believe i'm actually going to say this but well done Ashley! Didn't renew my season ticket this year but had one last year in the Championship (will have to check if I qualify for the discount) but after hearing this I will more than likely be getting a season ticket again next season. £46.50 a month for the Gallowgate (even if they don't give me the discount) fits in nicely with my budget as opposed to having to pay it all up front which would have been difficult, and the idea of a 10 year price freeze is incredible. In fact the more I think about it I will definately be getting a season ticket again next season. I've been paying match by match this season. My Arsenal ticket was £35 and Bolton will be £25 when I get round to buying it meaning £60 in the month of February for match tickets. A steady £46.50 a month, with your own guaranteed seat, away match priority and membership thrown in seems like a far better option. The only downside is the breaking up of the Leazes Corner. However, why don't the fans up there use this to their advantage? The Gallowgate Upper Tier is very short on season ticket holders these days and it would be superb if we could move them to there. A better view (in my opinion) and the low roof means the atmosphere would be terrific. I know it costs more there but they are giving you 12 months interest free and the chance to be paying the same amount for the next decade.

Finally about to go to St James' :) seating question

Same here. Also like to see the banter betwwen the Leazes Corner and the away fans which you can't see from there. The Gallowgate Upper tier is always one of the last places to sell out these days. -

Gallowgate corner (East) would be my recommendation. Great view and atmosphere there. Was superb on Saturday. -
28 goals in a season and a half from a central midfielder is phenominal. Could end up as a Toon cult hero I think.

"Around" 36,000 sold when I went in to pick up 2 at 11am this morning. Hopefully we'll break the 40,000 barrier but people are skint right now. Most of my mates who usually go and pay match by match are having to give this one a miss.

Newcastle v Manchester City Sun 26/12/10 15:00 - Pre Match Thread

Can't wait for this one. Man City are a club I despise more than any other excluding Sunderland and what happened down there earlier in the season just made my hate them even more. Hate their fans, hate their owners, hate De Jong, Given the judas.....just despise everything about them. Sadly I think they might beat us but if another 50,000+ crowd get behind the team like against Liverpool then we are in with a chance. COME ON!!! -
He will recieve more abuse from me than any other opposition player ever has before. My dream scenario is for someone to snap his leg, the ref plays on and we go on to score the only goal in a 1-0 win. He is then stretchered off to a load more abuse from the crowd. Absolutely despise the bloke.

Pardew didn't only benefit from Hughton going, he helped the process along and has been twiddling his thumbs for at least a month just waiting for Hughton to be sacked. He's getting no support from me and that will never change. This.
-
If we lose tomorrow he's finished as far as i'm concerned.
-
Can't see him being paraded in front of the fans on Saturday.
-
I've just phoned the ticket office to get my Gallowgate End season ticket upgraded to the Milburn Paddock right behind the home dugout and plan to boo him from the moment he comes out the tunnel until the day he is sacked.
-
I might try to force my way into the directors box and punch him in the face. Maybe he will sell up then.
-
I do this anyway and have never bought anything iside the ground since the Keegan carry on. The fact is that the players need the crowds support so i'm not one for boycotting matches, plus why should people allow that horrible, fat, c%^t Ashley stop them going to watch the team they've supported all their life?
-
Haven't read the previous 46 pages but Gerrard wasn't charged for his deliberate elbow on Welbeck, Huddlestone for his two footed stamp or Neville for his disgraceful challenge against Stoke. Then you have De Jong who could have ended Ben Arfa's career, again no action. One rule for some and one for the others. No wonder i've all but given up on watching Premier League football and take in local Non league games nowadays instead.

I honestly could not believe the reaction to Tiote on Wednesday. Yes he made a mistake which cost us a goal and that seemed to affect him for the rest of the game but up until that point he had arguably been our best player of the season. When he was substituted I stood up to give him a standing ovation, not for his performance in that match but for his contribution since he signed. Nearly everyone else around me stayed seated whilst some people actually booed and the bloke behind me shouted for him to eff off straight down the tunnel. I turned around, swore at him a couple of times and walked out of the ground. I doubt i'll be back again this season.

Newcastle United vs Blackburn Rovers 19:45 10/11/10 Pre-Match thread

Exactly! we're not in Europe and have fielded a reserve team for the 3 Carling Cup games we've played so the majority of our first team have played 11 matches since mid August (some of them even less). I really can't see how a fit sportsman who trains most days should be needing a rest yet. -

Went up to get a couple of extra tickets after i'd finished work yesterday and was having a chat with the lass behind the counter and she was saying they were suprised at the lack of interest in this match after the recent performances and that only "around 37,000" tickets had been sold (as of 4.30pm yesterday). The problem that we have now is that there's 20,000 tickets for each match on sale to members/general sale so when we have 2 home games in a week a lot of people will only be able to afford to go to one of them and a Saturday game is going to be more popular than the midweek one. If we can get a good result tomorrow there'll be 47,000+ there against Fulham. -

You're missing the point again. This isn't an ordinary team in an ordinary season. Some of these players aren't good enough for the PL but they're playing above themselves and as a result, are putting more energy and workrate into performances. They'll burn out alot easier than a Robson team or us in the Championship etc. Just out of interest, who in the current starting 11 isnt good enough for the Premier League? Not necessarily not good enough, but i think Nolan, Simpson, Barton and Ameobi in particular are playing above themselves atm. How exactly can you play above yourself? -

NUFC.com reporting that there's still tickets left for Leazes Corner and are advising supporters to contact the ticket office. Will be a crime if because of the clubs stupidity the section closest to the scum won't be full.
