I see these small time jokers are having to do a kids for a quid offer for tomorrow. Right in the thick of the promotion race and having to resort to this to pull a crowd in is highly embarrassing tbh.
-
Aye there's a good reason why they only went to 52k for their new stadium and we'll be looking at around the 70k mark.
-
Don't think they're anywhere near us tbh. Last time they averaged more than us was in 1991/1992 (the season we almost got relegated to Division 3) and our historical average is higher than theirs.
-
There's 10 of us so one of the lads was on about seeing if we can organise a minibus to take us in. I'd have rather done the train but if they're off hopefully that's an option.
-
Staying in Watford Saturday and Sunday night. Apparently there's a direct train straight to Wembley Central from there. Got cracking seats for the match at the front of Block 528.
-
No that was my first thought. Don't know if it needs some writing on the seats along the side spelling "Everton" or something like that but I was very underwhelmed when I seen it. Seen it described as both one of the generic FIFA grounds and a bigger version of White Hart Lane and it's hard to argue with either. Would like to think that with if we get a new ground a bit more imagination will be put into it.

The referees are so far up Liverpools arse it's scary. Should be down to 10 men and not booking Jota for that is ridiculous. Dreading the Cup final.
-
Spread over 3 tiers. It's not a great away end to create an atmosphere but as I said when they play at home in Europe the away fans generally don't have any trouble creating a din.
-
Anfield sounds absolutely abysmal once again today, for those who automatically assume these old traditional grounds have the best atmospheres.
-
It isn't due to it being high and narrow but I remember watching them play Feyenoord earlier in the season and the Feyenoord fans still managed to make a hell of a racket. I'm already getting the fear for Wembley. I can see it being the same as last time. At least it can't be any worse I suppose.
-
Aye seen a few people on twitter complaining that nobody seemed arsed today. Suppose the performance wouldn't have helped but in days gone by that wouldn't have mattered.
-
Just doesn't look interested anymore. If we want to move forward he's the sort of player we need to be moving on.
-
You don't HAVE to use a ballot system. Most clubs don't.
-
Of course everyone wants to be in the higher tiers but you'd have to earn the right to get there by attending games both home and away. The more games you attend the more points you accumulate. I would include home games in that as well, so season ticket holders for example would immediately get a 19 point start every season and a member who went to 12 home games over the season for example would be awarded 12 points (plus any aways). Maybe offer 2 or 3 points for away games and keep back a % of tickets for members. At the end of the season, say there's 500 STs up for grabs through people not renewing the club could look at the points of the top 500 members, work out the threshold, and say members on X amount of points can apply for a season ticket. It's not exactly radical thinking. It's just what our competitors are doing. If they want to build the fanbase, which was one of the things the new owners committed to, you can't operate a closed shop ticketing policy.
-
Not sure you're grasping the concept of tiered membership here, certainly in football terms.
-
The Chelsea fans complaints centre around the following things; They belive that their owner who has a stake in some American ticketing resale site is skimming tickets to flog across the pond at a huge mark up. Secondly they're hampered by having a small stadium. 40k capacity. They reckon there's as few as 3k tickets going on sale for general admission areas these days. This brings me to point 3. They've removed a lot of GA areas and replaced them with corporate seats in both the East and west stands, meaning there's even fewer seats available to normal supporters. When you look at their actual membership scheme it's a pretty fair one. Members being recognised and rewarded for their loyalty in exactly the same way as their ST holders. The problem they have is that since their new owners came in it's become more difficult than ever to access tickets. An interesting point that also should be made is that Chelsea floated the idea of switching to a ballot style system last year like what we have and they had so much resistance from the supporters that they didn't go ahead with it. People preferring to take their chances on muliltiple devices at 10am as we used to. @SteVwas asking when could they implement changes. I'd say this summer. In no way am I suggesting removing any loyalty points from ST holders but at least allow members to start earning them themselves. Make a % of away tickets available to members as well. It's hardly a radical thing to do. Most other clubs do it. Another thing worth pointing out is that we are the only club who's loyalty points scheme goes back to the 1990s. Most other clubs operate a 3 year rolling scheme, Chelsea actually reset theirs every summer. Something needs to happen because a very large % of the fanbase is being badly short changed and excluded as things stand. I know of loads of people who bought memberships a couple of seasons back who don't have them any more because they felt it was a waste of time and money.
-
I'm pretty sure they played a home game at the San Siro many years ago, possibly when they were still at the old Delle Alpi and it was a complete sell out. Might have been a CL game.
-
Nah I didn't go. Few of my mates went and said it was a shit hole and from what I can gather the Juventus and Torino fans hated it as well. For a club of Juventus stature their new stadium was so underwhelming. Nothing special to look at from the outside and very basic inside. Only holds 41k as well and tbh it wasn't even completely full either. A few empty seats dotted about. Atmosphere fairly average too. You look at both Milan clubs pulling in 75k every week, Roma 60k, Napoli 50k and you wonder how Juventus don't have a bigger fanbase.
-
Was at Juventus v PSV on Tuesday. PIF should take a look at that stadium and make sure ours is absolutely nothing like it whatsoever. A very underwhelming arena, inside and out and as for the facilities, fair enough I was in the away section but they had one small serving hatch, which you had to leave the stadium to access, for the entire away end.
-
Aye think 10k is a very conservative estimate as well BTW. Seen something last week where they were complaining about how shit their atmosphere is and were putting the blame on most of their fans being over 70 so maybe something in it though
-
Aye I think they'll be more than happy with a quick cash grab then back down where they belong. We seen how they went on when they drew us in the Cup, money signs lit up and they basically prostituted themselves out to us. Tripled their ticket prices compared to the last FA Cup game they'd played before us, and handed us their home end, plus accompanying Hospitality areas. Even decorated the place in black and white before the backlash.
-
Aye if your lifestyle enables you to be sat at a computer screen fir ridiculously long periods pressing F5 I imagine a membership will have its benefits. Unfortunately for the majority of us that's just not possible, which is why I refer to it as a raffle ticket. Throw your hat into the ring and see what comes out. I find resale is also a waste of time unless you are only after 1 ticket. The likes of me wanting to take the bairn has no chance on that score. Never seen anything other than single seats on there when I've tried.
-
Aye it's basically a raffle ticket as things stand right now. Nowt more than that. I've never used mine for any other reason that entering ballots.
-
Yeah should have cleared it up. If you are already a ST holder you don't need to go to away games to give you the right to renew. It's aimed at members who are trying to get one.
