...or experiencing the inevitable mauling! That's always the dilemma. Do you go and watch us get battered or stay away and miss us playing amazing and beat City? I normally tend to get it wrong mind so the rest of you should probably still go this week.

Dropping like flies. Dorty red bassas.

I agree about the experience of a match day. I love it, drinks before and after, chatting/forgetting about the game and having a good time. I'm up this weekend for the red vs blue game and to be quite honest that is the reason I'm coming, not to see nufc play. I haven't even bought a ticket. Just gonna have a good time with the guys on saturday, watch the game in the pub on sunday before heading home. I can enjoy match day without the expense of going in to the stadium.
-
If they were playing anybody else tonight I would have been bouncing of the walls watching that. They're really poor. I only want them to have one good game this season, on 22nd Jan.
-
Didn't renew mine for this season. I'd still like to have one but with the cost of travel and the time away from home I just wasn't getting enough enjoyment out if it. If I lived in Newcastle then I'd more than likely have one though.

I'm out friday and saturday.

The game itself will be a gigantic anti-climax.

Turn your swear filter off, you massive fucking jessie.

You're good people Lucas. Apart from when you're a cunt, obviously.

I'd just like to put one thing straight. The regulars has never been anywhere near my wife. To be more precise, when I mentioned that somebody off the forum was more than likely to try and scrounge a lift with us, and proceeded to describe him (and his usual level of #bantz) she ran outside and had at the car tyres with a very expensive set of steak knives. We are now getting the train up. Furthermore, I'll play her his comments and then somebody can video her tearing him a new arsehole when they do finally meet. Really enjoyed the rest of his comments though. Nobody can say he isn't entertaining. Nixon is clearly the star here though, his professionalism just radiates through the airwaves.

Really good stuff lads. I'm supposed to be writing up an assignment but instead I've sat here for 20 minutes laughing my tits off at you three. Also, there is no chance of the wife giving me a warm up. She's not a morning person.

I'm sure with planning you could organise an N-O North American Forum Game, there's plenty of you over there. Maybe after a couple of years you could even lead your team of 'forriners' on tour to take on the might of the N-O Presidents Select XI.

You're missing it, aren't you?
-
So are we. We'd be genuinely interested to see if you can maintain your calm mackem persona in the face of constant high level first person bantering.

Liar. (Pretty sure I saw the big man asking the ref for a tissue to dry his eyes after the first toys came flying out the pram) Look at these red bastards and the malicious libel they are churning out. Your mind games won't work on me Desmond.

But a very common problem, even as far up as professional standard there are keepers who are hopeless at kicking. The inability to clear the ball adequately is a problem in amateur football that leads to so many goals.
-
Exactly. It's amazing how many people can ping a ball 50 yards in open play, deliver a cross on the run or spank a 20 yarder in to the top corner but when they have to hit a dead ball up the field they panic like little schoolgirls.

Uh oh you'll be like the blue version of Geremi if you're only giving people one chance to get things right, you'll be taking everything. The last time I played for a team properly (about 6 years ago) I used to take more or less every throw on both sides of the pitch, unless somebody wanted to play it quickly. I also took all free kicks from deep, most where a direct shot was possible and was penalty taker. Depending on the keeper I used to do the goal kicks as well. I wouldn't take the free-kicks that were being swung in or corners due to my usefulness in the air. Was it your ball or something? I can remember you having a long throw. Nah, I was just playing really well at the time. My long throw was always a massive weapon. At one stage I was hitting the back post from between the penalty box and the half way line (Delap style) so it got a lot of use. Shoulder is fucked now mind so it's not as good. I've always been clinical on penalties, only ever missed one in a competitive match (in a cup final and we were winning 4-1 at the time). A lot of people can't take or don't want to take deep free-kicks or goal kicks and as I wasn't fussed I always took them, rather that than someone scuffing them to the oppo. It wasn't like I was demanding them and crying off if anyone said something.

Re-reading that old thread. Forgot about this.

Read through the thread from the July 2010 game. It explains a lot. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,69376.msg2414304.html#msg2414304

My full backs get one chance to do it right then I take over and do all throw-ins.

Are you getting naked?

Newcastle United vs Manchester City - Sun 12th Jan @ 2.05pm (Sky Sports 1)

Desperately trying to resist the temptation to buy tickets for this. Probably the only time I'll be in the area this season. I'm not sure it's worth the £70 when I can just stay in the pub and watch it.
