I agree that Nolan has to be in the team somewhere. He isn't a striker, so he obv has to be in the middle somewhere. Him and Barfa could both play off Carroll as a three man attack with Tiote shoring up behind. Because Barton is so effective on the right yet a natural CM, he could drop in to help Tiote when necessary.

Absolutely needs to go on loan in January or he will amount to nothing. Haven't lost all hope with him and am sure he will be a decent top flight striker, but he needs to do what Carroll did when he went to Preston to learn his trade followed by a season in the fizzy pop league.
