  1. If he goes in January then we'll need at least 2 strikers plus 1-2 more players in other positions. Imagine that
  2. The desperation to sell our players continues despite us spending no money. /yorkie
  3. The fans who've gone there probably will be. Why? Pardew has made it clear that he plans to use squad players for Europe especially with 3 games in 7 days. I'm sure the fans who booked knew they couldn't expect to see a full strength team. There's a difference between not full strength and just playing the reserves though. Well not sure what you were expecting 3 days after a difficult away trip at Everton and a home game coming up on the Sunday. I certainly never expected to see the big guns on show. Happy for the squad players to be giving game time to improve and push for starting roles. The better team we put out at home against Atromitos almost got us knocked out so I'm a little bit concerned. I've said previously I was really excited to see some of our young players getting a chance so it's not all bad. Signing a few more players in the summer would have pushed us safely through the group of course. No it didn't. They had a good chance to level the scoreline but shot wide. It was a s**** performance, for sure, but don't let the aching desire to be cynical at every possible turn make you rewrite history. They could/should have scored that chance and should have a penalty. That's not being cynical (yawn).
  4. I might be wrong here but I can't remember him saying definitively that he wants to stay. The quotes I saw over the summer (see below) were rather noncommittal. Very, very happy to be proven wrong over this. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2012/07/14/demba-ba-slams-talk-of-quitting-newcastle-united-72703-31392918/

  7. It isn't about him being "dropped". He isn't happy about playing out of position for the last 6 months. Being on the bench was just the tipping point.
  8. Norwich are undefeated in 4 games. We should be putting 2-3 past them but they'll be hard to beat imo.
  9. He was clearly demotivated by being moved and that sapped his sky high confidence. Only last night did he look back to his best when he was furious and determined to prove a point.
  10. We were 5th after Villa where he started upfront, with Best, and scored. We went unbeaten in the league for 3 months with Ba upfront (and no Ben Arfa) too. If I was in the form of my life I'd not want to be moved out of position. He deserved better than that after his first 6 months.
  11. Because it was good for the team, that's 'how'. We were 5th before Ba got shunted out on the wing. We were hardly struggling.
  12. "How could you put your best striker with full confidence on the left wing?" Yep.
  13. "I recall attending an event hosted by the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and hovering on the fringes of a conversation which saw a slightly lubricated Newcastle fan fall to his knees and plead with Gibson to buy his club. Gibson was amused and possibly flattered, but the request was a futile one; the reason why his ownership of Middlesbrough has worked and endured is because of his passion." Is that the almost bankrupt and stuck in division1 Middlesbrough?
  14. Cleared one off the line too. He needs to learn from Carroll about how to dominate in the air. I think he's taller than him.
  15. Ahem. One thing tends to spark another, ladies. Horrible man. Uh-oh.
  16. http://i50.tinypic.com/2qmzryq.jpg aye.

  18. His first goal changed the game completely. I wouldn't have bet on Cisse scoring that chance with the form he's in, as proved by his awful miss in the first half.
  19. Who else watched the first half?
  20. We'll play badly and Ba will nick a goal to save our blushes.
  21. We were playing horribly, he came on and got 2 goals out of nothing to save us. That's different to playing well and strikers scoring as a result.
  22. How is it cynical? His goals tonight and the one out of the blue at Tottenham got us points we probably didn't deserve. Same as the first 6 months of last season. Player scoring helping us to points is papering over cracks now? How do other teams manage it? You missed the first half then?
