I was worried when he came on. He's looked a bit too over enthusiastic in the few times I've seen him previously and thought it would be too much for him a this stage but by the end I was clapping him off the pitch. I'm sure he didn't want the game to end. Not sure how he'd have fared in the first half though.

Rodgers himself said they could bring him back "only in January". They wanted to bring in Dempsey as a replacement but couldn't afford him. I don't think we even offered money for Carroll btw. Just a loan deal with an option to buy in a year.

Has it been mentioned that Rodgers has said that they can bring Carroll back in January if they want? They bring him back, sell him to us in January and spend the money on bad players imo.

His main problem is he doesn't (or rarely does) drop back to collect the ball or push forward to help with a knockdown from the endless long kicks. It just goes over his head more often than not, which is either down to poor formation or him not using his brain.

We had loads of free kicks and corners and wasted almost all of them. We could have killed them off with only a few decent deliveries.

He looked like a fantastic player at that tournament. Don't know if it's formation or what but he's been awful this season and could have easily been dropped for parts of last season. And for the record...

I though we were overrun in the midfield in the first half. They worked harder and we had nobody to put their foot in like Tiote would. Jonas took a bit of a Tiote role inn the second half which helped massively.

Ben Arfa was definitely behind the strikers for a while late in the first half.

Aye. The continual hoofing from Krul would have made sense if he was on the pitch. Ba and Cisse aren't target men at all.

He was inconsistent last season as well. I put it down to him learning a new counties style but it's getting worse. Still though, if that free kick had gone in...

Cisse's shot that hit the heel of the keeper would have gone in last season. 3 Inches away from a goal.

Jonas was my MOTM. His running and tackling was priceless as they controlled the midfield from the start. His performance allowed Cabaye to hide again. Anita was a breath of fresh air in that he was a full back who got to their byline a few times. Santon was dangerous early on but was nowhere in the second half. Thought Bigi would have been even more overwhelmed than he has looked in the past but he was exactly what we needed, a calm head and his block at the end was a point winner. AND THE AIMLESS HOOFING FROM KRUL HASN'T EVER WORKED. EVER.

I said at full time that game would be the highlight of our season. How wrong I was.

Is he even going to be there? This #pray4 culture is awful.
