  1. Wouldn't say they last forever like, they seem to be getting thinner every year.
  2. Cheers for the info guys. So the Northern Rock deal will expire in 3 seasons time. Can't imagine anything else being there it'd been so long. Dont know that but it ends this season, it was a 2 year deal for sure. Wonder who will take over after this season. You can tell it was a 2 year deal though, milked for all it's worth, 3 kits last season, 3 kits this season. We don't even need a third strip!
  3. No, I'm pretty sure Chris Mort said as much once they bought the club and saw the books - Club sponsorship money had been used in one hit for Owen, hence no future sponsorship money in the pot. Cheers mate, thought it was right. When does Northern Rock expire? He'll walk into another 20m+ when the next shirt sponsor comes along, wonder how much of that will be reinvested.
  4. I thought Owen was bought with the Northern Rock sponsorship money, the full wack of it. Have I made that up?

What qualifies you for an emergency loan...no fit players in the position? No way could we do that unless Colo, Wilo and Taylor are all injured in that case?
  6. Good point Didn't think about that actually. Oh well, I'd take it over Sports Direct, just.
  7. Not sure I like the Puma logo on the roof either come to think of it. http://i53.tinypic.com/23w8add.png Probably because it's not symmetrical etc.
  8. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=jessica+burciaga Enjoy!
  9. Like I said it another thread, it wouldn't bother me as much if SJP was covered in decent brands and sponsors, but you just know if it's going to be an advert it will be more Sports Direct logos. Indeed. A black and white Nike/Puma/Adidas logo on top of the Gallowgate roof would have been far less awful. Think its a disgrace there isn't ONE board dedicated to the Bobby Robson Foundation as well. Exactly what I thought, the Puma logo on the roof would look pretty cool. I don't get why he is putting Sports Direct everywhere to be honest, I was under the impression he was selling the naming/sponsor rights of the ground, so I was expecting another brand, what happened to that plan? Maybe he is using the stadium as an 'example' of the kind of advertising possible - but we don't know what sort of figure they hope to achieve for that, and maybe sponsors aren't prepared to pay that price - hence we stuck with SD.com for the foreseeable, unfortunately. As for the Puma on the roof - maybe it was offered and Puma declined - also, only one year of strip deal left - no guarantee we will renew yet. Probably be made by Lonsdale or Dunlop though, the way its going! He could at least do it with class, eg. the Sports Direct logo on the roof wouldn't look half as bad if it was in Black and White. I live in hope some decent brand with a pretty logo buys the rights.

  12. That would look really shit.
  13. Good post mate, but it would help if the club was transparent with the fans and told us they have no intention of getting a striker in, focusing on youth and the 4-5-1 prospect etc, instead it feels like we've been strung along through God knows how many potential striker targets through this window. Only a couple of months back we were weighing up the prospect of Gervinho and Gameiro, now we're down to Free agents and fuck all.
  14. Seeing that 08/09 team brings back bad memories. I remember when Fulham scored at SJP on the last home game of the season and the heavens opened, it was so depressing, knew we were down then.
  15. Best start bracing yourselves for the worst. "Sports Direct @ St James Park" All in blue and red font.
  16. There is no way it's going back up. Why would you need to take the letters down to clean it?
  17. Aye true but surely the same could be said about the ground sponsor!
  18. It's so annoying how the fans can't do fuck all about any of this, even if he changed the seats to red and blue we would have to cope with it. I seriously don't think we're far away from Sports Direct for a shirt sponsor and a new Club Crest...wouldn't put it past the cunts. Also what happened to "it's just for this season" I wouldn't mind as much if we had a respectable brand plastered all over the ground...
  19. Agreed. Harper, Williamson, Perch, Nolan, Routeledge and Smith have all been replaced for the better from that line-up, fuck knows how we put 6 past Villa with it.
  20. Well that was anti-climactic.
  21. I think it hangs in the balance of the fitness of key players...if we lost Colo and Tiote to long term injuries (heaven forbid) could anyone realistically see us finishing in the top half half then? Our strongest 11 is more than capable of a top 10 finish IMO.
  22. Once he finishes Ramadan he will be like a new signing.

    Bryan Ruiz

So we offered improved personal terms and he still went to them?
  24. 5 Decent but not strengthening the one area where we are piss poor is a disgrace.
  25. I would take Carlton Cole now like.
