We needed the added width, I think bringing on Perch for Ba and pushing jonas out wide would have been a smarter change but that early a sub would have been cruel on Ba.

Poor game. Hope that's out of the system though and we're back on form soon. Having said that credit to wigan, they were excellent. Krul had a poor game, as did the whole defence. Cabaye and Tiote were anonymous as was Ba, Cisse missed opportunities but I'll give him a break considering how clinical he usually is. Jonas wasn't quite with it, ben arfa nearly dragged a few goals back before being subbed off, a class act. Pardew got it wrong but to be fair on him I don't really think anyone could have predicted our defence would fall apart so quickly to so many goals no matter what tactics employed, but it's happened before. We need the first goal, we can't deal with going behind. Oh well, onwards.

I'd like a goal back tbh. This change should have happened a while ago, Simpson was playing a third cb most this game, much more suibted to Perch

One of those days, we've had them before, would be horribly embarassing if they score a load more though.

credit to wigan they've been clinical like we usually are but we've just failed to get into the game, failed to close them down at times, and our usually defensive solidity has disappeared. Need Ba off for Perch just to shore things up. Changed it when we went 2-0 down to give us more width, which was needed, but not doing well enough still.

People just aren't used to losing, it's not really the end of the world, and plenty of time

We're starting to get into this, get a goal before half time, momentum is with us and plenty of time in second half, they should tire before we do

Wigan are playing great and we were thowing caution to the wind attacking. They're very comfortable on ball.
