Strange signing, that. Quite overrated, imo. I don't know about that. He is what he is, a hard-working midfielder, makes up for technical deficiencies with pure motor. Though that means he's not on the same level as Vidal, Pogba or Marchisio, of course. IMO he's technically superb but pretty lazy. Potential to mood swings aswell on the pitch. In terms of raw potential and ability there are few better than Guarin, but he's such a frustrating player when i'v watched Inter. He will no doubt benefit from having some world class midfielders around him at Juventus however. This transfer is on hold apparently as the Inter fans are not best pleased about it.

far be it from me to defend them but lord knows they're looking the sane party in this. Steady on. Once we're done monitoring we'll see.

I'm still not confident we'll even get him in the summer, unless he's already penned a deal. That's how far down this regime has brought me, I never believe anything.
-
Must all be horribly confusing for Joe.

Get French Football @GFN_France 41s Montpellier Chairman Laurent Nicollin now denies a deal with Newcastle for Cabella, the deal he had announced 3 hours previous. #MHSC #NUFC

If we fail to do anything in this window then that's basically 3 out of the last 4 windows we've done nothing. The summer before last we only brought in Anita, and only brought Remy in on loan before this season started. More than plausible we'll bring no-one in this January so thats 3 transfer windows of not even pushing to bring players in.

The players we signed in January were brought forward because we looked like going down, we still had them arranged to sign the following summer anyway. We certainly did have a transfer policy, of course we're yet to see if its still functioning since Kinnear arrived So Pardew, Llambias have told us but as we all know they're liars. Would not surprise me in the least if we hadn't have brought those in the summer if Ashley felt it wasn't required. Our current way of thinking is do not sign anyone if they're valued at over 5mil, only look for players on the scrap heap, or loan deals. Less a policy imo more a cheap way of running a top flight club. You only need to see Joe Kinnears program notes to realise they're practically making it up as they go along. Scrap heap? What the hell are you blithering about. Practically all recent signings have been young internationals including 3 club captains, one of which had just won a league and cup double. Scrap heap ffs. I said our current way of thinking, i.e with Kinnear running transfers. Those deals you mention were a year ago. You cant be expecting us now or in the summer to pay real premium for players? Luuk De Jong is available by all accounts and surplus to requirements. Ideal for our criteria no? Scrap heap was maybe a little harsh but basically what I meant was is that we only really look for deals where the player is acquired easier than a flat out money transfer. If fans are confident we'll go and sign a whole bunch of youngsters again like last January then fair play, can't say I am though. The simple fact we are seemingly doing loans only at the moment tells you quite a bit.

We dont have a policy. We just wont spend any money (unless it looks like we're going down)
-
Desperately needs support and also to wake up. I rate him but atm he's drifting through games.
-
Basically. I would add to this though he's doing nothing to suggest he wants to rectify matters.
-
Well obviously, but personally am against just taking the money when it's doubtful we'll spend it.
-
9million or not they are right to turn it down until a replacement is at the club. Take Cisse away and you have a loanee and Shola. You cant just go selling your strikers when you hardly have any in the first place.
-
I'll give you that, but pace and competitiveness in terms of top teams aren't much better than the SPL. PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord, Twente, Heerenveen & Vitesse are all a lot better than anything below Celtic imo. The SPL really is shockingly poor.
-
Wish him the best, lost a lot of his form the last few seasons but had passion for the club.
-
Thing is they're having a good season Gladbach and it's their in form players keeping him out of the side, not terrible form by him. He just cant get a look in. I don't think it'd be a bad signing if we can create plenty for him (another issue). Although the dutch league is pretty low standard I think it's slightly harsh just to say he's shit cozza one sub standard season in Germany.
-
Another weak plea for players from Pardew. He'll change his tune completely when it's obvious there is no one coming in, the same applies for the summer.
-
We could sign players whenever we want and without any degree of difficulty, Kinnear or not. Ashley simply chooses not to if he feels it's not vital. The spending spree in Jan was done in a crack, strange how we never heard of any 'bid being prepared' or 'targets being assessed' when the threat of relegation was in Ashley's radar. The players were recruited almost instantly then. I still say that had we not been struggling last season we would not have brought any players in come January, excluding maybe Debuchy. I'm even dubious as to wether we'd have chased up our interest in Sissoko and MYM the following summer like Pardew says we would. If he can prevent any expenditure on players, Ashley will.
-
Roma are signing Nainggolan from Cagliari. On the surface looks a great signing, they're packing that midfield.
-
Be nothing short of disgraceful if we dont sign anyone.
-
To play him on the wing occasionally, like they do with Kagawa? A rather simplistic summary.
-
Not what we need though. We've got good players who can occupy the position behind the striker. Rooney is better than Ozil IMO and we've got Januzaj and Kagawa there as well. Would have been a waste to spend 42.5m on him, as good as he is. True but Kagawa has barely featured and Rooney is in and out through fitness. Also maybe a little risky but Ozil could play a little deeper. Cleverly is such a risk free player and does nothing to worry the opposition. Plus a signing like that stamps some authority and lifts a club and it's players. Granted Arsenal paid some premium for him but still think he'd have been class for you'z.
-
They shoulda signed Ozil.
-
Hernandez needed to come on far earlier to support Januzaj... who seemed to be the only one clued up imo. Really don't want to say out for that 2nd leg, mackems playing with some freedom in that cup and Old Trafford will be charged with tension.

He was bricking it incase you conceded a third defo. I was baffled by his changes. All very well and good for other clubs but not really the Man Utd philosophy we're used to.
