The only thing that's gunna stop this btw is money. Pardew clearly rates the b*stard.

Seem's fairly clear to me that the only club that can unleash his potential is us, purely because Newcastle are the only side he truly wants to play for. Now he may well move to West Ham, but wether his previous form will return at Boleyn is hugely debatable. May get a handful of goals, but nothing as blistering as before. If he came back here though its entirely plausable we would see that snarling bully of a centre forward who ran at defenders aswell as totured them in the air. He's got Newcastle in his dna which is why we're the only club that can save his career from becoming forgettable, for positive reasons anyway. Despite all of the above i'm not sure where he's gonna end up, but it's back to back mistakes if he joins West Ham imo

Well. This is the forth friendly and I think you can start to see a pattern. And oh. There was also a last season. we finished 5th What has that to do with Shola and Willo? Williamson was a first choice centre half from November onwards. You're not very bright are you? What has that to do with passing? Don´t it occur to you that we maybe could have done even better? Or if we want to do even better maybe he is one to improve? See what your angling at but we will inevitably become sharper and pass the ball better. Nearly every pre-season game has a sluggish feel about it.

Your summary was that of a 3rd round league cup tie, not some crackpot friendly in a hot country.
-
Yeh we were generally sub standard in most our friendly's last season and pre-season as a whole was chaotic, and look how that panned out. Cliche maybe, but its about finding match fitness before the real stuff comes along, aswell as giving fringe players a chance to show they are more than that.

I'm as passionate about Newcastle as the next person, but get a grip.
-
Mark Douglas' plums on a skewer if this goes tits up.
-
If Newcastle are willing to let it run on and on then you have to assume they are extremely confident of getting him. Fingers firmly crossed for this one.

Didn't watch the game but i have seen enough for Swansea that shows his quality and unlike Henderson ( terrible comparison) he can actually pass forwards, create and dribble. Henderson is just awful. Besides i'm pretty sure most players look awful under the coaching of Stuart f*cking Pearce That wasn't a direct comparison in terms of playing style btw, more of the fee's they paid and are looking to pay respectively.

He did say we are 'priority' and no doubt Cabaye has a huge factor in that, but there is definatly some truth in what your saying. Debuchy won't wait forever. If Inter do come in with a bid and we don't retaliate with a fresh bid of our own, he'll be off im sure. Chelsea and Inter the other intrested parties? Not exactly one's we dont have to worry about.
-
Not saying he's rubbish and he will no doubt be perfect for what Rodgers has planned, but your talking about someone who had a decent season and nothing more than that (imo). Thought Liverpool would have learned their lesson by now with Henderson.
-
What has Joe Allen done to achieve such a price tag though? 15 million is an outragous fee if Liverpool are paying it.
-
Aint over this one by a long stretch either, end of round one imo.

Douglas fooled us once...judging by Twitter some have fallen for the second time.

If we don't have one in in the next week or so then its understandable fans will start to become restless. I know the window is open for a while yet but you would like to think we can get players in and settled long before then, aswell as having time to replace (shudder to think) any players who may be sold. Last thing the club needs is a repeat of the Carroll scenario where we had hours to frantically search for a replacement, or indeed that ridiculous Bryan Ruiz chopper rubbish. Would be actually gutted if Debuchy goes elsewhere. Its a signing that shows how far we've come in the last year or so.
-
Just hope we show a tad ambition ... for the 'assault' on Europe.
-
Yeh, if we had qualified for the Champions League we would have added more players. After the elimination is when the rot began to set in.

That's true but still plenty of time to have dialogue with Lille, that combined with the fact that most of us are impatient twats.
-
To enhance the negative feelings a few are saying Chelsea have renewed their intrest and will meet Lille's asking price. As mentioned previously if were using Debuchy's desire to join us as a bargaining chip then thats a very risky tactic, as is the assumption he's is simply gonna wait around for us and not consider going elsewhere.
-
Really, suprised we would adopt such an approach Of course we would. It's brought us so much success this summer so far. I know that man..attempt at sarcasm obviously not my best.

The Cabaye factor is what's keeping the deal alive imo

Our previous signings (last seasons) were in the main opportunistic and with a slant that gave us the edge. A clause, a few that did not entail fees, and chancing in on players that had been frozen out (Santon, Obertan). It was only really Cisse we had to put a large sum in for and lets be honest, must of us were suprised we had spent that much on a player. Be nice to think we are capable of emulating that transfer with other players on our wishlist. Our policy has a lot of balls, and its an admirable way of business, but we need to find some compromisation somewhere this season, now we are chasing players who carry fees. No clauses or whatever. Everyone knows Debuchy is a quality player in his prime, and we have offered what? Just shy of 4million. We'll get nowhere in the market imo if we continue to attempt to rip people off.
