Might give RTG the shoulder for good now like. Used to enjoy the pettiness and sheer mong fest , but that Robson thread is barely believable. Pathetic .... like the club itself.

Its not even bitterness. Yet again a season of nothingness for them is going to be defined by what happens to us and if we succeed or not. If they lose there next 3 but Chelsea win that final, theyl be more than happy.

We dont actually beat teams, just outscore them. If ever you had to define such sheer bitter mackem logic, then this statement would be all you need. Truly and utterly astonishing..
  6. Cautious side of me says we'll finish 6th..... but as this is us anything can happen.
  7. Sky's desperate last ditch attempt to derail our season with the 'demba aint happy story' ... its a non starter man. He's narked as he aint scored for weeks... most strikers are. Good how Jonas mentioned him post match... can see numerous attempts to pick him out on monday now.

Makes for superb reading that thread...
  9. As mentioned before its his decision making, its incredibly sub standard. When he has space in front of him (with or without the ball) , he refuses to run into it or if he does he starts then stops. He has an uncanny habit of picking the wrong pass aswell. Seems to lack the confidence to get that brain of his working, if indeed he has one. Why he started last monday is anyone's guess, wethere Pardew thought his pace would give there defence issues, who knows. Worth noting we signed him aswell during a period when our activity was a little quiet, sorta gives it the slant of one we got over the line to appease the fans.

    Alan Pardew

What happens if we improve our style of play but slip down the league and miss out on europe? Entirely plausable.

Definatly something in this. I like Pardew, quite amazing where he has us in the league but its understandable some fans are concerned at the growing tepidness in our performances. Now Europa is a clear objective, He seems to be getting increasingly paranoid about opposing teams and the side has gone in its shell as a result. You can take a defeat to Arsenal, but some of the absolute basics recently have been really poor. Passing, retaining possesion etc are so sloppy at times. Set Pieces also remain plain awful. The current run reminds me of some our early season games (QPR, Scunthorpe), where most our players just looked lost. Wether its down to tactics or stage fright is open to debate, but there in real danger of letting a potentially great season devolve into a mediocre one. If Pardew is streetwise (I think he is) he needs to do the obvious, which is start Ben Arfa week in week out and play two up top without fail. If he persists with this containing method they currently adopt, they will not get europa league. Huge game on sunday, possibly Pard's biggest for me, asides his first as manager.
