It's a journalist from L'Equipe, not just someone they dragged off the street with a French accent. Ahh, never knew. Mind you L'Equipe were the ones originally stating it was practically a done deal, and that was over a week ago, so what do they know.

Of course that bloke talking in the vid could be anyone. Fact is they have purchased a new right back and Lille might buckle soon if Debuchy's mood continues to decline.

Did Sky actually state that? I looked on twitter earlier and it said something like 'big transfer news regarding Newcastle coming up' ... and i'v since heard f**k all.

And quickly claiming he was right all along. He was absolute quality that first season, fell apart in the second along with the rest of the team. MacDonald just plain hated him.

The Ben Arfa one was slightly different for me as we were fresh from promotion and it came across as a pleasent suprise that he came. With this one their has been massive anticipation ever since Pardew has dropped that hint on the radio. It's building to the point that if we fail to get him it will be seen as a sizeable blow, given the sheer length of the pursuit.

Good point, this does seem to becoming rather repetitive. Hopefully though with an actual discussion between player and manager, this might finally begin to move, one way or the other.

He seems adamant on leaving, next week we'll have an abundantly clearer picture on what the f**k is going on.

Doing my piece in now this tbh. Garcia obviously doing everything in his power to keep him, despite what he's coming out with to the press. Probably thinking the longer we draw out a search for a replacement increases the chance the player may change his mind.

Yeh, I think he's one Abramovich wants to sign as they were close to getting him last season under Villas Boas. If he goes to Chelsea then its less competition to worry about I suppose. He's looked decent everytime I'v seen him play, granted not frequently.

The optimist in me translates it as Chelsea might have looked at Debuchy but for some reason can't have him i.e he's on his way to us (eventually). Therefore they moved to Azpilicueta. He is good I agree, we've been linked with him aswell last few days.

Chelsea close to signing Azpilicueta apparently. Taking that as a positive.

I thought that. If a player is so dead set on leaving, keeping him there is going to cause more harm than good. Surely they have another right back that can fill in for a while. Not like they dont have time on their side.

Think the lack of Lille obtaining a replacement is whats holding this up. Debuchy's comment about our bid may have been our first offer, the one that got promptly refused.

Some of the lads I work with put 100 quid a piece leagues on. Not for me like but some seem to take it pretty serious.

Hopefully the club's have actually agreed a deal as reported, and now it's just down to Debuchy himself giving it the green light. Im confident he's gonna be here soon, its the sort of signing that makes everyone else sit up and take notice.
