  1. Very interesting article Dave, just goes to show all the various strands that can balls up a deal for a club. Seem incredible on the one hand, but then again, maybe not. There's still a lot of money flowing about though. Does anybody know what you need to be a football agent? (or than being a twat)
  2. www.allezlelosc.com click on forum and it's under Debuchy. Think the link to here is around page 70 odd.
  3. Just spent a bit of time reading the Lille forum but haven't really gleaned anything I didn't already know. They seem to be split on whether this is over or not and there does seem to be a degree of confusion over statements about a replacement etc. The consensus there is that €8 million is the figure required not €10 million. They call Seydoux Dad or Grandpa and they've linked to this thread, about us mocking our own offer (the bottle of wine reference) Also Google translates us as Noodle Castle

  6. "Sammy Ameobi. He’s as tall as a giraffe but has legs like pencils."
  7. "I'd like to introduce you to Mathieu"
  8. "It's being a frustrating process, the player really wants to come here, we thought we made a fair offer" etc etc
  9. Good post Back on track after the pun fest. Yes, totally agree with your thoughts, that's why I'm disappointed by the MD deal, I was hoping beyond hope we could get him tied up early, get him into training and integrated into the group. Again I think we need another CB and striker if I'm honest and I don't really think that wishful thinking on my part. We're about to go into probably the most exciting and promising season in recent years on the back of a terrific last campaign, if ever there's been a time for making the right moves in key places, it's right now. We have a really superb spine of a team now, we're just looking another three quality first teamers and we're in jizz land. If can land Debuchy, bring in a ready to go CB and add a third out and out striker, we're there imo. We'd then be in a position of only reviewing the squad members who don't look like they are going to make the step up. There's plenty of cheap, free deals to be had on that front as we've seen so far. We are so, so close now to nirvana it hurts. Really want us to do it now.
  10. Agree with this. I don't know why people think we've not bid enough for him, £6m for a full back is still a pretty major investment. Sure Lille would like us to give them another couple of mill but it's still a lot of money for a full back. You would expect them to play hardball and they are. At the end of the day though they won't want an unhappy player on their hands and a compromise will be reached. If not then we'll have to look elsewhere because when it starts going closer to £7m I think we'll start looking at alternatives...maybe a young left back with Santon switching to the right. We've only bid 6million Euros though not £. If we bid £6mil then we'd probably have him by now. That's what I read, 6 million EUROS we've bid and they want 8 million EUROS
  11. Don't forget how much he hates us. I thought he was going to ask me to leave his - Film Director - office when I told him who i support. That was 18 months ago but suspect he hasn,t forgotten... Tell me more, I know nothing of this
  12. This is weilly getting to you isn't it?

  14. dint be bloody naiive....this is french ego we are talking about.,,,and a football chairmans ego as well, ofcourse they are pissed iff. Your avatar photo freaks me out a bit
  15. Have never really understood this thought either. If there was a clause in his contract (which there was) and we met the clause terms (which we did) then I can't see what any problem would be with that.
  16. Not sure if I feel anymore positive this morning on this one although it looks like it might rumble on a bit longer than I feared. Matty seems set on a move so that's still a positive I guess. Just really hope this doesn't go right to the wire on deadline day and we miss out over a £1 million quid or such like. Given we'd probably get £2.5/£3 million for Simpson, even at the asking price it'll still represent a terrific deal for a substantial upgrade. Really hope we can do this.
