team news took the wind right out of my sails if i'm honest :/
Same - looking at the bench just shouts - spend, spend, spend

Difference being, playing him against a team that is allowed to assault players for 90 minutes, the ref put the line absurdly high and it was written all over that we would get injuries, and what happened? Well they almost took two players legs out, kicked one guy in the dick, smashed one guys nose. It wasnt a football match anymore thats for sure.
I think Trippier was lucky to come out of it unscathed.

This looks a real uphill task with arguably our two best players out
Would take a draw.

I know we can’t rebuild Rome in a day, but the first team and bench today really highlight our lack of quality in the depth.
100% - especially in Midfield.

Worst thing is we've another game mid-week so not a lot of time for him to recover. I just hope it's prompted the club to get another CM in.

Was he injured getting kicked? Because if not then it’s just unlucky
Seemed to tweak his groin in a 'heavy' challenge for the ball.

McTominay is not bad… he’s just not good enough for Man Utd.
..or Newcastle. He is no better than what we have.

I disagree to be honest, when Bruno came on they had a 10 minute spell where they where pressing, and we needed someone in the middle to calm things down, and slow the game down, which Bruno is good at.
Howe has said he wants to priorities the cups, which means putting your best players on to see a game out.
Wasn't worth the risk in such a physical/aggressive game - have a go at cups yes but choose your battles with irreplaceable players.

I’d guess McTominay would cost at least £20m and £100k a week in wages. He will never represent value for money.
He's no better than Longstaff.

1st time Eddie really got it wrong bring him on against Tranmere. There was just no need. Let's pray it's not a longterm/niggling recurring injury.

BBC reporting the Paqueta deal is £36.5m plus £15m in add ons. Hurts even more at that price
Come on Dan - make it happen

Longstaff looked poor against Tranmere, needs a big performance from Willock and Big Jo to hide his lack of movement.

Thay would be great for Everton
Yep - I rate Gallagher alone more than Gordon. If I was Everton I'd be biting their hands off if true. Phenomenal deal.
-
If he is injured I hope Dan is in London meeting with Paqueta- much like the Wilson situation it's a wake up call we need another CM

Playing for Man United is still a prestigious thing to have done. I know we can laugh and joke about their situation or say he might as well stay on our bench but if you were Newcastles number 2 and Man United came calling, of course it would be tempting to make a change.
I'm sure there would be financial sweetners, as well as Europa League football and if De Gea gets injured, he's their number 1.
From our point of view, we need to make sure that it's financially worth while.
..and that we have a replacement lined up. Worrying to go into the season as Darlow as back up.

Anyways, I recall a time when Bruno couldn’t get in the team cos we were winning games and playing well.
We don’t need to be too deflated if he is out for a little while.
Shelvey was fit at the time.

Should of signed a CM as soon as Shelvey got injured.
100% - Paqueta as well. Team just doesn't tick without Bruno he's our engine. And you need class to replace class.
-
Loaning Dubravka is a joke - if Man U want him then pay the asking price. The club can then re-invest it in his rreplacement.

It’s a half decent chance for him to win a trophy out of nowhere at the end of his career.
Aye - here.
