  1. Had enough of this....signed up to 10 years and have had payments come out for next season.  Guessing if I cancel now money is lost?

    Yes you will lose it.

I only found on Friday that the club hadn't been taking my payments, they had only taken payments for 2 tickets instead of 3.  The club phoned up to ask why I wasn't renewing and my wife told them that I still wanted the ticket so they should take 3 payments all at once on Friday. My guess is that quite a few may have dropped out already if they are ringing around to ask why.

I'm gutted as I would have told her not to renew on Friday and less so today.

worst timing ever...3 season tickets...that's some commitment to watch this circus act.  I'm in two minds whether just to write off what they've took and cut my losses.  It pains me to do it but Ashley has shown today he intends to run this club into the ground and I can no longer bare to watch.

    "Football.

We know f*** all about it"

this sums it right f***ing up.

Mike: Derek this is the best £200 million I've ever spent

Derek: Mike you really do hate them Geardies....but this is friggin hilarious

  3. You don't become a billionaire without having a ruthless streak.  MA will know hw unpopular this appointment will be and IMO is doing it solely to shut us up over AP.

  4. Tried watching his sky sports interview but had to stop halfway through.  The man can barely speak, "I spoke to David Lammm ......David lammmm......errrr Mike".  The news reporter couldn't stop smiling as its such a joke.

  5. £30mil into Ashley's pocket...maybe...just maybe £3-5mil on his replacement.

Look Cabaye may have not had the best season but that can be labelled to much of the squad.  But on his day he's class. I for one hopes he stays even at that price.

  6. Going to be like last summer I feel.  They think they've done their spend in jan even though that was making up for the lack of spend in the summer.  Can feel history repeating itself.  They'll give it the big 'am happy cause no one left'

  7. Want him back?  Here let's refresh your momories.

“I’m not happy when the team does not create anything.” “Fans come to see beautiful games with beautiful actions and not long balls from the goalkeeper to the striker.”

And he speaks the truth.  I'd have him back but it's not going to happen.

  8. He'd still be a great manager now imo, no doubt. He connected with players on a personal level through inspiration and you don't lose that. Football's changed but you could have said that when he took over the first time. It's always changing.

Exactly.  I think he could do wonders with our current squad.

  9. If there was one thing that we learnt from last season is that you should always be looking to improve your squad.  You don't do that by selling your best players.  The club should be on a strong enough financial footing now where we don't have to sell to buy.  So the club have no excuses really.

  10. He started out wide four times, once after Ba had been sold. Dunno exactly how many times he ended up wide through shuffles of the side mid-match, but generally speaking it was indeed a handful of matches at most and has been massively overstated.

For the vast majority of the season he was either up front alongside Ba in a 4-4-2 (which generated much derision on here) or on his own in a 4-2-3-1 after Ba left.

Whatever the stats maybe he certainly wasn't playing in his preferred position until Ba left - which was really the point I was trying to get across.  The service to him after that was poor at best hence why 'imo' he did brilliant to score the goals he did.

  11. Realistically, if a club is offering you far more than a player is worth, then you should take it.

Firstly Cisse is worth more than £20Mil -  the guy is a 'proven' goal scorer in the Premiership and the goals he scores are utter class. When you think up until January Pardew had him playing out wide, to finish the year with 13 goals for the service he got was nothing sort of brilliant.  If it wasn't for his goals we would be down.  Which takes me to my next point - EVEN if you thought £20Mil was good for him, you need to take into account the loss to the club should the lack of his goals next year send us down.  We cannot go into next season without 'at least' one striker who has proved he can score goals in this league.

Cisse is clearly seriously under rated.  At the end of last season before last when he was scoring goals from everywhere would you have said then £20Mil was a fair price?  I am not convinced you would.  We have one bad season and suddenly people become bad players?  I would even throw Tiote in that bracket.  We need to keep this squad together - it was this group of players who got us a whisker away from Champions League football.  I am not saying they will again but it certainly shows the potential of the team.  We need to be adding to it not selling any of our best players, whatever the price.  Cause you never know if the replacement will be half as good.  Just look at Ba - so far Gouffran is the only striker to come in.  And lets be honest he is average at best.

    :mackems:

    And the joke being?

You, if you genuinely believe Cisse played out wide until January (when it was actually no more than a handful of games) and that 13 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions (8 in 36, or 1:4.5 in the Premiership) for a man of his ability constitutes in any way, shape or form a return that can be described as "nothing short of brilliant".

    Aye...I am imaging it.
