I'm all for long term stability but for you to achieve anything you still need a good manager at the helm. Man Utd didnt win 38 trophys under Sir Alex 'just' because they stuck with him. They won them mostly because he was a world class manager. Alan Pardew isnt suddenly going to become the tactical wizard that we need him to be. He has been a Manager for 14 years now, so he's pretty much developed as far as he is ever going to. Even if we'd not signed one player all Summer I wouldn't have minded so long as they'd shown Pardew the door. The fact that they haven't just shows how little ambition they owners have for the club. All so very depressing.

Interesting. Cheers.

Anyone know the consequences of cancelling my direct debit if I am on the 10 year season ticket plan? Will th club try and reclaim full cost of ticket for next season? Or will I just lose my contributions already paid for next year.
Cancelled mine today and they just stop all future payments.
Don't you have to cancel Jan prior?

No money no Collo - simples.

Start of season - the club were spouting the ambition 'Champions League'.........in a year that's reduced to top 10. With the players we've got we should at least be pushing for top 6th - 7th. All we are missing is a competent manager. If I was Cabaye/Ben Arfa - I'd be off. The owner has no ambition what so ever - so long as TV money is coming in he's happy.

Injured again...pass
-
Now that's a scary sight lol
-
Reckon he's gone. Had a feeling about it for a few days.
Rafa
-
I'll s*** myself if Pardew goes now.
Ha.....that could only happen to use.
-
Didn't realise Rafa was only 53.....nearly same age as Pardew. Yet has achieved so much more.
-
Aye especially after he just shelled out on 5 new players lol
For me its on par with Keegan saying we'll never beat Chelsea.
-
This picture of Ashley gives me hope that he's had enough of Pardew.
-
Come on Ashley get the man signed up.
-
Was just watching Rafa's interview on SKY. Got a lot of respect for the guy with the way he conducted himself despite all the stick he got at Chelsea.
Can't believe a manager of his calibre is available, and truly believe at this moment in time we'd have a chance to get him.
-
So what happened with Colo at the end?
Half the stadium emptied....
-
Another positive: seems as if he skipped Sky's post match interview.
Interesting......
No lap of honour
Less bullish in BBC interview about his future
No interview with Sky
....could it be?
-
Did he say 'we had no Shola today' ?....
Aye.
Big loss cause he's such a big game changer
-
Did many stay for the post game celebration? We left and t looked like half the stadium did too. Did we miss anything?
We didn't hang around & almost everyone around us left too. Quite a few people slagging off Pardew on the way out too.
I stayed and the ground was canny empty.
-
How on earth did we stay up?

Lol....sad but true.
-
Was outstanding. Probs best game since he came.
-
Just watched his interview with BBC.
Dodged the question, no doubt.
"You spoke about sitting down with the owner and talk about where you'll be next year - have you done that?"
"Yeah...the situation is: we've made mistakes this year. We need to correct them as a club and that's what we'll do"
Hmmm....wasn't quite as bullish as before as to whether he'll be here next season. A glimmer of hope maybe.
-
"We had no Shola or Sissoko today"
Shola has one league goal this season Alan, one goal.
Couldn't believe when he came out with that. Clearly scrapping the excuse barrel.
-
he looked great today after coming on..
Agreed. I like him as a player - wasted under Pardew.
