If Pardew got the welly I would personally like to see Benitez at Newcastle. Doubt if we would be at the arse end of the table if he was boss.
Don't think he would ever get the job here though, I cant see him as being the yes man that Partridge is.
I'd take Rafa...massive step up over Pardew.

Just watched his post match interview on NUFCtv. Amazing how things can change - everything he says just pisses me off.
Same here - it's never his fault. The pitch, the wind, the alignment of the moon but not his lack of tactical awareness.
-
Sky have gone heeeaaaavy on him here, like. Beautiful.
Not seen anything like it....
How did the ref miss that?
-
tried to do too much and gave the ball away loads, poor today
He's playing too deep sp he's got too much to do. Pardew is wasting him.
-
Whatever happened to Cheik Tiote?
Pardew.....seems to be destroying Sissoko as well.

Couldn't believe it when Shola jogged on at the start of the second half like. Was even more mortified when most around me started giving it the big one and being encouraged by this.
Hopefully this 'Mackem Slayer' nonsense can be put to bed now. He's not a mackem slayer at all, he's a poor striker who's been around the club long enough to score a few apst the same opposition 5 or 6 times.
Shola should only ever be a last resort in any game. Today he was Pardew's answer to the first half bumming we took. Absolutely shambolic from both Shola, who had zero influence on the game whatsoever, and Pardew.
well said

Getting very frustrated by him. Should have buried at least 2 chances today, not counting the one that was 'offside'.
The man is feeding off scraps. Considering what he's had to work with I think he's been immense lately. Lets not forget his goal should have counted today.

I want to know why those who have faith in Pardew actually do so? What is it about him do you believe that he is the man to take this club forward with the current squad that we have got? I will admit he is a good man manager as the players seem to like him but when it comes to tactics - can you please tell me what it is about him that you rate so highly?
Anybody?
Go on then. For a start, I don't rate him highly or even have that much faith in him. That's even more the case after today. However, my position all along has been that he deserves next season based on last year alone. I saw enough during that season that I could be happy with as a supporter going forward. If things haven't improved after the start of next season, he should be replaced. I don't have very much faith that he'd be adequately replaced mind.
As you say, he's obviously a good man manager and the players like him. I crave some form of stability here and, if he can reach the heights of last season again, I don't have any real personal dislike of him to prevent me wanting him as our manager.
Last season we managed a run of good results as opposed to actually playing well thanks to Ba and Cisse. This season the Chickens have come home to roost. I've yet to see anything from Pardew that makes me think he's a good manager.
-
Our players are good enough but they are playing with no logical shape or tactics.
Nail on head.
-
Bemuses me why people are so certain Ashley will be happy to buy players like January's and see no return.
I can't see him replacing Pardew with anyone better though. Bargain basement Mike, dishing out on a decent continental coach?
Exactly.
-
He's a good player who is wasted with our style (spit) of play.
Spot on.
-
His best asset when he first arrived was his fast passing and movement along with Sissoko. For me, both players have lost that as they've become accustomed to our lack of direction and off the ball movement...they have just faded into the general apathy and are looking very average as a result.
They both look lost - like they've not a clue where they're meant to play - Sissoko especially.

Ben Arfa out wide - wasted - he is NOT a winger - the lad should be pulling the strings in the centre of the park
Marveaux out wide - again wasted - he is NOT a winger
Personally I think Ben Arfa has put in his best performances for us on the wing. I agree with you about Marveaux though. If we stay up we need to buy some out and out wingers.
True but I think we've even yet to see the best of Ben Arfa cause he is out on the wing. Everything should go through this lad.
-
Tactics lost us the match as much as anything - we allowed them to dominate us - we had no midfield. Pardew also has this habit of constantly playing players out of position.
Cabaye - too deep - we need him to play further up
Jonas - left back was just madness,
Ben Arfa out wide - wasted - he is NOT a winger - the lad should be pulling the strings in the centre of the park
Marveaux out wide - again wasted - he is NOT a winger
Tiote - should be the only holding player - and playing it simple
I just could go one. We've been playing poor for a year now, results last year just masked over the cracks. With the quality we have in the squad now we should be comfortably turning over teams such as Sunderland. But tactically Pardew is utterly clueless. Doesn't play to our strengths.

Never wanted Wigan to go down before....but Come on Villa !!!

He's not seen that. Looking forward to the FA doing the c***. Doesn't help us though. Feel so sorry for the kid.
The FA have never ever done anyone for a bad tackle and won't start now.
That's not a bad tackle...its assault.
-
He should be banned from refering another game after that decision. Disgusting...the lads career could be over before its began
-
Still amazed he didn't get booked yesterday - lost count the number of fouls he gave away.
-
Remember thinking at the time it's stupid idea playing someone who is coming back from a hamstring injury on a fake pitch. Whether he would have still needed an operation is anyones guess but it cannot of helped. I think the club as a collective need to analyse that decision.
As for selling him... I'm still pinching myself that he plays for Newcastle - the lad has not even hit his prime yet. He's just been unlucky.

Recently, you’ve been announced perhaps everywhere during the transfer market?
Last summer, we really had a great season and I needed to settle myself even more in a team where felt great. I still had lot to learn and give back, because they gave so much. I simply couldn’t leave last summer, even If I had several propositions. And this winter I wasn’t willing to leave either. Of course, I want the club to be ambitious, and sometimes in our minds we think we could go for the title with the squad and the prestige we’ve got.
Still not committing long term....
Come on Ashley give this lad new contract.
-
I think we can only really judge him this season once Ba left. Up until that point he played many games out wide in a position he was unfamiliar with and clearly uncomfortable with. The lack of goals as a result is clearly on his mind as he seems to be snapping at his chances. But he is still creating chances and I am convinced the goals with start flying in before the season is out.

It's only a fracture, PHEW

The second wasn't Taylor's fault really. You can't expect him to expect Coloccini to make such a bad error.
It was both their faults - they were too far apart and Taylor played too high up - perfect for Bale to run inbetween.
Who would you go for?
