at this point just sign him so we don't have to hear about this forever. Would be a mistake to get rid of Cisse though

re Verretout (of whom I know next to nothing) is that we recently appointed Hendrik Almstadt our sporting director. Almstadt worked at Arsenal where he spent a lot of time workingwith Wenger and, to a lesser extent, Tom Fox (then their CCO, now our CEO) on linking the football and commercial sides of the business.
It seems that there was a process under way, which stalled, to bring Verretout to Arsenal, and that Almstadt was deeply involved in that deal. It could be that this - unlikely sounding - deal is getting to be possible based on that relationship.
In the wider story, I do wonder how come, after five years of c***ing around in the transfer market like idiots, we've suddenly started to look like we know what we want to achieve, and we've invested time in finding the players to help us do it.
In other news, apparently Charles N'Zogbia has this evening tweeted something about "politics", removed all Villa references from his twitter profile, and changed his profile pic to a banner saying OFFLINE.
I hope that's because he's offski.
Veretout is a good young player, an upgrade on Westwood.

My initial thoughts on who'll qualify out of the groups. Pure bold directly, bold italic to knock-out.
Poor Finland

glad to see Jamaica, Panama, Costa Rica doing so well recently, it makes for a better, more interesting region. The US deserved to go out, they played awful all tournament. The only annoying thing is Mexico is now going to win it in the most undeserved way ever.

Looks like he's never played on this type of surface

Only one worth watching

that call in the Mexico game

thought Aarons and Woodman looked good.

What a finish

This commentators are going to be idiots right?

Very excited to watch this guy tonight!

Wonder of they'll try him (Yedlin) further up the field. Either way a loan would be good. He needs to play and Spurs seem to have a lot of success loaning players and having them break into the first team later.
-
I meant that if he only scores 8 goals or something, he shouldn't be considered a massive flop. Part of what we are paying for here is potential.
-
Keep thinking that this is a risk (and it is), but we've gotta remember that this guy is even younger than Perez.
-
That age range
He's either one for the future or right in the middle of his prime.

This dancing. ..

Fucking hell

According to Serbian commenters on youtube (
) the celebration is him cutting the tongue off to silence his critics

Aren't all our decent u21 players in Holland? so the two on the bench are probably just making up the numbers.
