Remi Garde in talks with Newcastle
GFFN can confirm that Newcastle have initiated discussions with Remi Garde for the vacant managerial position at the club.
Garde is believed to have been contacted last week and discussions have already been ongoing for the last two days.
Remi Garde is interested in the possibility of taking up the job, but there remains a chance, out of his control, that Newcastle decide to go with another candidate.
These reports are now supported by L’Équipe and Le Parisien.

Was thinking the exact same thing. Nobody has even bumped the "realistic transfer targets" thread because we know there won't be any. (Though I suppose drooling over managers we aren't going to get is kinda the same thing)

The league is doing better signing young players now. if you look at the list of designated players it isn't filled completely with old names and quite a few of the recent ones have been young player with potential. It's still over shadowed by every Gerrard, Lampard or Kaka signing though because those are what make the headlines.

Yet the public narrative is that we are a selling club and Pardew kept getting his best players sold so he got bad results.
Just about everyone is a selling club and every manager has to deal with losing his best players. It's really annoying when I see this argument. (Whether or not we replace our players is a completely different matter)
