He overhit and underhit simple passes all night giving the player receiving the ball less time on it, which is critical against pressing teams like Burnley. He gave the ball away stupidly at least two times, one nearly leading to a clear cut chance. Just those things alone are enough. Hayden, Shelvey & Merino are much sharper mentally, physically & technically. No reason for him to play, he's not good enough. I agree he shouldn't play. I just think we had much much bigger issues tonight

Yes - when they're shit. What did he do that badly tonight? He gassed badly obviously around 60 minutes in but up until then he was probably as good/better than basically all our team bar Shelvey, Atsu and the centre halves
