Shearer is pretty good when he's analysing a game he's just watched. It's impossible to analyse 7 games well on the same night with only a few hours to prepare
Tbf Chelsea were down to ten men after captain, leader, legend JT got sent off for kneeing Sanchez off the ball for no reason so it was still a good defensive performance although Barca obviously should have won. Think Messi missed a penalty iirc
Put it better than I could have People who don't understand it will call it shit but it's quite interesting IMO. The first time I had heard about it was actually that Bayern-Atletico game as well
He looked poor in recent years but one thing I noticed in the highlights is that there was much more space for him to pass the ball into/move into for his goal that he'd be used to at Man Utd where teams sit deep and defend. Could be a very good move
Think it's that they look at all the shots from both teams and work out the average chances of scoring from that position and then add them all together. I like it tbh
The foul he sarcastically applauded wasn't a foul though so no
Shouldn't have sarcastically applauded. Tough shit.
Wouldn't have had to if it wasn't called as a foul
They don't have a Shelvey though to release players from deep. Think we'll be more dangerous in that regard.
Don't know if we'll be this strong defensively though
Yeah, not playing through the middle enough at all. That should be the emphasis. Going through DeBruyne and Silva centrally.
There's no space in the middle. One of Sane and Sterling should replace one of the centre halves
