Trippier, a CM who can run with and without the ball and also do something with it, Martial/Lingard and one more defender would be a good start. Ideally I’d want two CMs and a Gayle upgrade too…
I’d say a proper 4-2-3-1 should have wide forwards rather than wingers. Quite often a lineup is masquerading as a 4-2-3-1 to appear more attacking, when it’s really more of a 4-4-1-1 with wingers/wide midfielders who work hard defensively.
Yep. This game didn’t change anything. We did ok in the first half with a terrible starting XI against a superior team who would beat us blind-folded. Actually looking forward to the Manure game.
