    Football pet hates

    - The England Band. - Lower league clubs going "oooooohhhhh you are shitaaaa" at goal kicks. - Everton and their fans on Twitter. - The Merseyside Derby being built up...they sit with each other ffs. They love each other. They don't hate each other. It's the exact opposite to Fener v Galatasaray. - Glory hunting fans. Especially ones from China, India etc. Seeing tweets from 40 year olds in their Chelsea and Man City tops trying to tell clubs like NUFC that we're nothing. They've never been near Chelsea or Manchester. They'll only have switched on to them in the past 5-15 years so where were they before that? - Fans of other clubs, it's mostly asian tourists mind, who get all giddy and take photos of opposition players who are literally CELEBRATING A GOAL AGAINST THE TEAM THEY'RE THERE TO SUPPORT. - Half and Half scarves (I actually got given one by a Breda fan in 2004. Half NAC Breda, half NUFC). I've still got it. But I hate the ones with like Man City and Man Utd etc.
  2. Not at all, I just think it's strange that out higher profile signings haven't worked out or to be frank, have been a load of shite. I'm gonna judge this guy by hiwbhe does for us. Thinking less of him off the bat because he's a cheap transfer is flawed logic when seeing how our more expensive ones have done. Think its more about his poor goal record and the fact he can't get a game for Stoke that is more the concern for most level headed fans. I was thinking about his goal record, so I looked into it. Last season, he played 902 minutes in the league over 20 games. He basically played 10 full matches in total minutes on the pitch. He scored five goals. Same with the season at Stoke in 2015/16. Effectively 12 full games, 4 goals. Got to give him a chance - he's 6ft4, so will give us a target man at least. Rafa clearly doesnt trust Mitrovic to do that job.
  3. Mine was dispatched 3 August. 9th postal day tonight, still not here. It says to allow 7 working days from UK...so I think it's coming from abroad. After all this wait it'll just be garbage.
  4. It was apparent yesterday we need a big striker. Rafa clearly doesnt fancy Mitrovic. 141 games since 2012. 39 goals. 1 in 3. Not a signing anyone will be massively buzzing over, but will give him a chance and see what he can do. If he scores 8 goals and helps keeps us up, fair enough. Just hope we dont lumber ourselves with him on a long contract with big money a la Riviere, Saivet etc.
  5. The main positive I took as that we looked well organised and potentially could have taken a point of a side challenging for the Premier League. We will never know though due to Shelvey, the injuries didn't help either as we couldn't freshen things up. We looked very hard to break down and that bodes well for the future. We'll be giving up possession a lot of the time, so based on the first 50mins, at least we looked good defensively. Spurs could only have long shots, bar that moment when Spurs got into the box and passed it around freely.
  6. Before the game it was all: "We can't create anything without Shelvey in the team" Now it's: "sell the cunt!!!!!!1" He let everybody down yesterday and was poor before the red card. But he's still one of the only players we have who can pick a pass. Nowt like overreacting.
  7. We simply have to sign at least a striker. Gayle is injury prone, Mitrovic is unpredictable. Then we have Riviere only. Same with the keeper really. Elliot is fairly injury prone, Woodman probably going out on loan. We need another keeper in. I think if we got Lucas Perez and Adrian it would be ok. Why that inept specky tosser Charnley takes so long to do deals I'll never know. He's achieving nothing by dragging his feet.
  8. "Honestly, you complain when I don't feed the baby, you complain when I feed the baby nails, you're just never happy." It's true though. A lot of fans feel they need to be spoken to by the club on a regular basis. They need statements and what-not on the regular. The Chronicle love to trot that one out, that the club are silent...then the Owner talks, and that little Hamster faced Twat Mark Douglas comes out and stirs the pot about him talking. Because he says stupid things True aye, but I still hate that lot at the Chronicle. They love whipping fans up into a frenzy about every little detail. They're too busy doing that to actually report on the transfers - they've missed the last three (if Kenedy does go through).

  10. At least he's spoken. We all kick off and demand he speaks more, and then he does and people don't like what he has to say. The full interview will be interesting. He's said many times, the Football club is left to Lee Charnley to sort - he's a massive problem. Does deals at snail pace and tries to get the perfect deal everytime purely so he can approach Ashley and say "Look how good I am, give me a pay rise". I'm no Ashley fan, but again, at least he's spoken.
  11. Ticket also says "Gallowgate Club"
  12. If that's what we're getting I'll be over the moon with the club for a change. Obviously a signed shirt, but what's the rest? And what is the ticket for?
  13. Ian Wright said on The Debate the other night that is "embarrassing" and he's not wrong, for once.
  14. Based on? I've heard stories of him being a complete knob in training like, refusing to shake hands and move on when things have boiled over with Lascelles at one point. Then we've got the facts like when shushed St James' and posed for the 0-3 photo. Added to all that he's a terrible footballer who should never have played for NUFC. It's not surprising why people don't like him and have wanted him gone since day one. Never heard about any issues in training so can't comment. I've met him a number of times, he's friends with a few family members and he's always been canny, doesnt seem to have an ego. That said, I don't rate him as a player and as I said I think the Championship is his level, we'd be right to move him on. The shush thing...it's just what's done really in derby matches. Dare say if we had a mackem and they scored, they'd do the same.

    Kenedy

Remember him scoring a tap in for Chelsea a few year ago and there was a bit of hype, but then nowt. Didn't even realise he was at Watford last year where he managed 15 minutes of Football. Hopefully turns out to be an astute loan signing who does his bit. Also hope he has a bit of flair, being Brazilian and all.
  16. He's a sound lad, but he has limited ability and the Championship is his level. Can't deal with his needless fouls all the time. Pushes people in the back in dangerous areas and it's cost us a few times. Blackburn away and Leeds at home to name two that immediately spring to mind. He had a good first season, scored a few goals, got an England call up (!!!) but since then it's been a massive downward spiral from there.
  17. He said Ake (didnt name him, but said player who went to Bournemouth from Chelsea) cost £25m total once "commission" had been paid, as we were looking at him. £20m fee, £5m in commission...then wages.
  18. He's staying then. No doubt the papers will still be full of him leaving since he mentioned China. He done the same at the talk in, said he wouldnt really like China but they're offering mega money. Next Summer is the test if we stay up, he'll want seriously backed and things done quickly.
  19. Would love to know what the combined wages are for Krul, Lazaar, Haidara, Hanley, Good, Saivet, and Riviere. Expect it's at least £180k a week, which is over £9m a year. Most annoying thing is we hand out long term deals. Hanley, Lazaar should have been 3 year deals max. Designed to boost the squad for a promotion push and then leave, just like Daryl Murphy.
  20. My two arrived today. Moving from East Stand block M over to Level 7 with the bairn, his first season ticket. Looking forward to being back up there. In regards to the free gift thing...if it's not a signed photo of Rafa in the nip then I've no interest.
  21. I think he'll stay beyond the window, but he's obviously unhappy about how slow it has went. He said at the talk in that he had basically secured four players, who, for one reason or another, went elsewhere. (Caballero, Abraham, Semedo could be three?). It's clear he wants a keeper and wants a striker. I think other than that, he's happy enough with the squad. We've signed a centre back, a centre midfielder and a winger, plus Atsu and Manquillo. I believe we'll secure both a new keeper and a striker, though I think it'll be our 4th, 5th, 6th choice of targets given how late we're leaving it. He also said at the talk in that the main objective this season is survival. He'll be wanting to finish as high as possible but if we come 15th, 16th at least we're safe, and will have massive TV money to come in. I think like others have said, next Summer, if he is still here, will be test - he'll want to sign £20m-£30m players. If we don't, he'll go.
  22. I've said this on Twitter, but if Lewis Gibson is 'highly rated' by NUFC, and considering Rafa is trying to change the whole club with a better quality youth team etc, why wasnt he in the first team last season? He's 16. But so was Ryan Sessegnon, who played 25 league games for Fulham. Gibson didnt make a cup squad, where we played Findlay, Barlaser, El-Mhanni and I think even Curtis Good featured at Oxford. £6m for an unproven 17 year old is silly money. It might turn out we should have kept him and could have fetched £50m for him in 5 or 6 years time, but he could also turn out to be another John Bostock, who was meant to be the next big thing, and ended up playing in minor European leagues. Like someone said above there, we thought getting Gosling for free would be great, but it wasn't. We'll see in a few year whether or not it's a good move, but for now I don't think there should be any tears.
  23. A "moron" for leaving a club that never gives kids a chance unless absolutely necessary vs. a club that consistently gives kids chances Plenty players from the youth team got a chance last season. Off the top of my head, the past couple of seasons, all of these have played at least one game for NUFC. Sterry, Sammy Ameobi, Armstrong, Dummett, Mbabu, Barlaser, Findlay, El-Mhanni. All have played at youth levels for NUFC and first team within the past two seasons.
  24. Obviously the kid is a moron who has eyes for money. NUFC are his hometown club, his brother plays here, he has a chance to kick on and play for NUFC, under Rafa, and he goes to Everton! What a mug. I imagine the club tried to keep him, but he's obviously getting offered a good amount of money to go.
