Probably OCD but why is the castore logo higher than the badge and not centered properly?

Been the same on all the leaks so imagine it’s been done on purpose to draw attention to manufacturer

They're photoshop mockups. I've seen that template before when creating t-shirt designs for clients.

The hanger, background, shadows, highlights and display of the t-shirt are templated and you simply add in the design onto a smart layer.

A good attempt by someone, but these are not real images.

Ah, cheers mate! He told me that he appreciated your tactical insights. I think the implication is that it made a change from the bloke that usually sits there

That's very kind of him, although doesn't bode well for the usual occupant of the seat - as in truth I haven't much of a clue what I'm talking about when it comes to systems and tactics, I think I was just poring over Bruno Guimaraes' elegance and poise for 90 minutes.

It's a fantastic seat mind. I'm usually around half way up the Gallowgate which is great too, but I felt far more immersed and in touch with the game from that seat.

    Much appreciated again

Has it been leaked elsewhere btw? It's mad that someone from Turkey who - as of yesterday - had less than 600 Twitter followers, is getting such news.

Given that he also shared images of Wolves, Rangers and Aston Villa's shirts, I'd assume Castore must use a factory in Turkey for the kit production which he has some access to whether first hand or via someone else. Certainly seem like credible images.

It would be a pretty shite argument tbf, but I agree that that would be their argument.

I wonder if the gospels have much in their about the fixation on hand wringing over the morality and hypocrisy of the individual, while those in power get away with being infinitely more responsible and more immoral, having created a world where its nigh on impossible for the individual to not be some form of hypocrite.

They say very much about that yes, but that requires me to begin using words like forgiveness, love and surrender and begins to challenge the very place in our psyche where we seek out our sense of self and how we orientate ourselves in the world. And understandably people don’t tend to take too kindly to such a suggestion.

It’s not really for me to say, as it’s the business of the individual to explore, but as you rightly suggest, the world and our relations have become so absurdly complex and unstable as we grasp at beliefs and ideas and struggle against our fellow man. My cherished attitudes and opinions not yours. And nothing ever seems to leave us satiated or satisfied when we seek to find our sense of self in passing, ever changing phenomenon. Yet all the while we sit in infinite simplicity if only one should become quiet and notice.

IIRC the UK has been Pagan, Roman Catholic, and Protestant, and as we all know, wars have been started over varying interpretations of exactly the same moral guide (the bible) and England (the crusades) and others commited genocide on a religious precedent, so I'm not sure your argument about a moral framework in a positive sense holds up tbh.

I don't see anyone getting riled up tbh, mainly just people pre-empting others getting riled up with ready made arguments or pre-emptively reveling in it. There are far bigger problems with the club's ownership than a kit, I think it's shite (along with the entire connection with them) because it's another instance where some of our fans will lap it up (yes, that dreaded sportswashing), or reduce it to being meaningless, and because the people who don't like it will fixate on the aesthetic rather than the far more important stuff, but it's a waste of energy getting annoyed about that specifically.

I agree about your point about other fans feigning how much they care about it, but that doesn't mean absolutely everyone else is.

I think the argument of many would be that secular humanists and atheists share the same belief system as christians and jews because western society is constructed upon judeo-christian values. Those values helped shape and construct public morality since long ago, and continue to influence it today.

That said having read the gospels again multiple times as an adult, it seems to me more concerned with transcendence and surrender than it is with morality. Particularly this kind of empty morality adorned like a robe everywhere you look these days; which is a morality based on the intention to be perceived in the eyes of the society to be doing the right thing, rather than actually doing it.

The gospels were in many ways the absolute antithesis to that kind of morality.

    Anyway, nice kits.

  6. I’ve often thought that there’s a certain clumsiness or something awkward about Alisson Becker which leads me to think he’s perhaps not as good as what people think. But everything I’ve heard from players and coaches is on the contrary so I must be wrong and it’s just an unorthodox style which works very well for him.

Trent is certainly one though, he’s very talented but the rhetoric around him for the past 3 years is that he’s the best right back in the world bar none, which I don’t believe to be the case at all.

Let's just hope our Geordie Sensation (Billy) is celebrating his first promotion for Bristol Rovers on this coming Saturday about 5pm.......🕔

If it wasn't for Newcastle United we wouldn't be where we are now!

    Appreciate this lads, so much

UP THE GAS & UP THE TOON

I love that you refer to him as Billy Elliot :aww:

It's wonderful to see one of our own go away on loan and gain such favour with the supporters through his contribution. Hopefully he can stay with Rovers next season as I believe that supportive environment and how integral he has become to the team is fantastic for his development.

That said, I'd be very interested to see what he could do in a Championship team.

I think he is a brilliant keeper when he is not in the "chest thumping pashun" mode. All of the best keepers nowadays - Allison, Ederson, Courtois, Neur - keep a low profile during the game, try to calm down when things are heated. Pickford is the opposite of that. Gets too involved in the banter and tries to win the war of words.

Look at him for England. Southgate is like the perfect manager for him. Dials down the temperature. Emphasizes players to use their heads. In that environment, Pickford is brilliant.

For everton, he reverts back to the "pashun" mode and then all the flaws crop up.

This polarity of his in-game personality was best displayed in the build up to the Jorginho penalty against Italy. Probably the most high pressure moment of Pickford's career, certainly more than an outing at St James' Park or a derby at Anfield, and he was mouthing to himself "no problem, no problem" before pulling off an outstanding, crucial save.

He clearly has it within him to handle the high pressure situations, and I think when in the right headspace he's one of the better keepers in the league.

  9. At risk of being excommunicated by stating this, but I like Pickford. I always admired his talent as a goalkeeper but recently when we played them at St James' Park I saw what looked like some goodwill and well-spirited fun in his exchanges with the supporters behind his goal. I don't think he's as hostile and belligerent as what I once thought. Plus, as someone who grew up in the north east with dreams of becoming a professional goalkeeper, and having made it as far as Benton training ground before realising I was out of my depth in comparison to the new level of my peers out of a Sunday league setting, Pickford in some ways embodies my childhood hopes and aspirations that turned out to be out of reach.

  10. For me next season, I won't necessarily judge it on final league position as there's a lot of variables and fine margins in play which are largely out of our control. I will look solely at our performances as a team.

A positive goal difference and a minimum of 15 wins should be achievable and would be a mark of real improvement. That would likely see us finish somewhere between 12th-7th.

Messi’s goal tonight. I can’t watch his games at PSG they straight up ignore the guy, he’s always asking for the ball and not getting it, it’s really sad.

Lovely strike, a trademark Messi strike. Effortless power and precision. I treat seeing moments like that live as precious pearls these days, knowing that in 10 years we will watch clips of him and long to see such a masterful, incomparable talent as he is.

Wonder if that formation will be the optimal for the rest of this season?

    4 2 3 1

with Bruno and I presume JL when he’s back playing 6 and 8 and Willock ahead as a 10.

We switched to that structure yesterday actually with Bruno & Shelvey as two 6’s and Willock ahead of them with a little more license to roam and press the opposition. It certainly made us look more solid and able to gain a bit of control over a game we were struggling to impact in certain moments.

If we were to use that again, Shelvey and Bruno are ideal sit as the base and Joelinton and Willock, both of whom are ideal for the more aggressive, energetic role, would fight it out for that position.

It happens more than you'd think.

Usually due to the fact the defending team are using part Zonal and part man marking for set peices.  Don't know if that's the case today but normally is.

Indeed, I see it regularly these days, and predictably, it more often than not causes problems for the team deploying that strategy.

  14. Decent enough half albeit we lost our way for spells. Shelvey and Bruno have shown some excellent quality on the ball, should we get more goals here it's very likely to be instigated by one of those two. Willock has been quite poor in possession for me, he lacks the composure of his midfield partners although his pressing and energy are unquestionable. I'm fairly convinced that Bruno-Shelvey-Joelinton is our strongest midfield 3 when all fit.
