In recent transfer windows, as we sit and watch the likes of Chelsea and Man United spend money unchecked as though they operate outside of the restraints we're chained by, the frustration bordering on apathy turns to pure admiration for Eddie and what he's been able to achieve. He really is the king. Chelsea can take Pedro, Man United can take Mbeumo, neither of them have a manager who is anywhere near the level of Eddie Howe, nor will they get one any time soon.

Where's Jobe™?

They seem to be heaping an awful lot of unnecessary pressure on themselves to win those opening games. Total meltdown incoming if they fail to win any of them.

Skelly over Tino man. Ridiculous. He's all over the shop without Arteta's meticulous coaching. I'm sure he would be in there over Hall too if he was fit.
It's no wonder in my 32 years I've seen only a handful of good England games, the decisions and selections are invariably nonsensical and the shirt seems to act as some kind of sedative. -

Still concerned about going with an inexperienced, young goalkeeper as our number one in such a big season. Would love to keep Pope as our number one and introduce Trafford slowly, with the ability to take him out of the limelight and have an assured, reliable counterpart. A couple of mistakes and a knock in confidence could leave us in a bit of crisis, and at 22 it is very likely those moments will come.
I think he will be a quality player in time, but there's a reason why goalkeepers often look at their best in their early-mid thirties. -
As strictly a back up striker I think he's a solid option. I can't see us getting a lot better than him as a second choice.

UK 9.
Brighton have agreed a deal to sign winger Roony Bardghji from F.C. Copenhagen for an undisclosed fee.

I have decided (I have not seen him play outside of one youtube compilation) that if we don't sign Rooney Bardhji (i looked up how to spell it twice and still missed) I will literally die.
I'm with you there Mike, he's the boyo. Let's Heaven's Gate it if he doesn't sign. -

Personally think you should be shooting higher. But maybe Howe can bring him to another level.
The higher the fee the better for us.
I'd love to be shooting higher, indeed there's a bracket of players clearly above Elanga - however I just don't think we're yet in the position to be buying those players. Mbuemo is a prime example, players generally aren't choosing us over Man United yet. -

Not really to be fair. I've seen Elanga play more than any of you.
Elanga is a quality player. Far more developed now at Forest than he was at Man United. -
An ideal signing for us in many ways. It would take more than £40m though, that would be a steal. I'd be happy with it.
I do think we need someone with a bit of creativity and incisiveness against more defensive teams, but I wouldn't want that to be a slight, technical player without much power and running. Gibbs-White would be literally perfect for us, I'd break the bank for him. -

Mount was a world beater a couple of seasons ago, he took the cash option and now look at him
Same as Chairman Mao tbf. -
Watching this in Tbilisi and I think over half the city have stayed awake anticipating that Kvaratskhelia goal. Old lady next door and the young lad the other side both screaming some mad Georgian shit when it went in.

Even if we sign Trafford, Pope should be number one next season. Trafford isn't at Pope's level yet, I'm convinced he will get there and hopefully surpass him - but he's not there at present.

Give it Shola. Get Gingland game on.

I don’t think this is good news. It means that whatever plans Mitchell has made, Howe wasn’t impressed. So what then? Do we start trying to sign a new set of players from today?
I think it went something like: Eddie, Tindall and Nickson are sitting in a room discussing targets, Mitchell walks in with his list and hands it to them. Eddie, not even fully turning to acknowledge him says "that's nice Paul, thanks. Anyway..." -

Does he get a pass if Vakhtang Salia and Antoñito Cordero become the next Mane and Salah
Bring him home imo. Howe out. -
That's a shame. I still have absolutely no idea what either Mitchell or Ashworth even did, nor do I really have a clear idea of what a director of football even is.
I don't get the impression they're scouts, scouts work under them. We don't really need a "vision" set, Eddie has already established that and it's working perfectly. No idea what need we have for one at this time tbh. -

I remember him wiping Matt Targett out about 20 seconds into his debut for us. Think Targett is still recovering from it now.

The players they sign are not that impressive imo. Delap, Pedro, Gittens joining Madueke, Neto and Jackson. Only Palmer is a proper top player of all of those. I'd have Barnes and Gordon over the majority of those players named. Isak obviously miles clear of them all. They just have strength in numbers but still fairly tame 11v11.
