    St James' Park

I left Newcastle and moved to Canada 6 years ago now… Of course gave up my season ticket which with the takeover a few short years afterwards was perfect timing after sitting through the mess before that! Anyway, even though I’ve not been back home since I left and have no plans to anytime soon even for a visit, whereas I can see the financial benefits for sure, SJP remains sacred to me and I would be very sad to leave
  3. From my limited understanding, PSR/FFP doesn’t get impacted by this. They’re interested in ‘accounting losses’ (e.g., transfers and wages) rather than cash moving in and out like this (appears as ‘Cash and Equity’ on the Balance Sheet). This money basically allows us to pay our bills and keep the lights on but it doesn’t offset our overall losses. So it can’t for example offset any losses through transfers and wages as far as PSR/FFP is concerned. We still have to balance the books for transfers and wages with revenues (commercial, TV etc.)
  4. A boring 1-0 victory would be great! Not just in terms of the result but I'm not sure how much longer I can physically take the heart in your mouth style of Newcastle United!
  5. Agree with the posts saying that we have a chance of winning but would take a draw. I would like to see us have a real go at this one though - set up like we did against West Ham and Stoke at home even though we're at their place. Really don't expect us to do this though and no doubt Rafa knows what's best much better than I do!!

    Rafa Benítez

This. I fully expect that most managers will already be planning for the next game too (maybe not some of our previous lot though) but Rafa is so good when it comes to talking to the media. Saying something - in my opinion - as obvious as this just keeps the momentum going for the lads and keeps drilling home the message that we can't afford to take our foot off the gas. It also just helps the media around us report something good and positive in addition to the win yesterday to keep the feel good factor going.
  7. He admitted in his post match interview that he thought he should have been better with the goal. In reality, I can't really think of too much that he's done wrong so far this season. However, I just can't seem to shake the fact that I'm not totally comfortable with him. I don't think that it's because he makes me particualrly nervous or anything, but if you look at other keepers in the league, it seems like you have to do something special to beat them (look at some of the saves Butland & Fabianski had against us in the past couple of games for example). On the other hand though, with Rob, although he's rarely going to make a massive error, if you keep testing him, it feels like you've always got half a chance.
