Like every other institution, it'll be bent as fuck. Just as Keith said last night, the biggest worry is that the arbitration panel are bought and paid for. I've the same concerns for any of our legal ventures.

I tought corruption only exist in third world country. European people always portray their country as squeaky clean, with corruption index etc.

I didnt know that your legal system is bent too.

Now NUFC only hope is for the Saudi to buy out your entire legal system then.

I can’t foresee a scenario where the PL give in and basically admit to bring wrong/corrupt. Or a scenario where they have cocked up and left themselves wide open to a case like this being successful.

This is like poker. NUFC got its cards, so do the PL.

I hope that NUFC cards (proves) is so good it will beat that whatever the PL cards. Or force the PL to fold.

If you think this is not possible (i.e : the PL will always win whatever proves NUFC have), then I have a big question about British judicial system.

The cat case could take years

    Really? Source please...

Because I read on their site it's usually only take 6 to 9 moths to resolve...

How long does the process take?

Cases before the Tribunal often raise complicated issues and may involve a significant number of parties so it may be difficult to know at the outset how long a particular case will last. However the Tribunal does seek to manage the cases tightly and, in general aims, to complete “straightforward” cases in less than nine months.

A claim for damages brought pursuant to Section 47A of the 1998 Act may be subject to the fast-track procedure (“FTP”). The FTP is a particular procedure intended to enable less complex claims to be brought, in particular by individuals and small businesses, and decided quickly with limited risk as to costs. In any case subject to the FTP, the final hearing will be fixed to take place as soon as practicable and in any event within six months.

And again people try to ignore hard facts so they can be negative, negative for the sake of negative itself. Defense mechanism? Who knows?

And one poster before said that he believe the takeover is dead. Base on what? It's clearly said in the CAT case one of the things Ashley wants is about the takeover (beside of course compo - because we know Ashley loves money). Why Ashley demand the PL to change its ODT decision if the deal is dead?

    People in this board :smh:

    To clarify then:

    - In 2 weeks: A statement from the PL to say they've read Mike's letter. IT IS ORDERED THAT: The Defendant is granted an extension of time to file and serve its application to contest the Tribunal’s jurisdiction until 5pm on 11 June 2021

    - July: Arbitration

    - August: We get informed that arbiration failed. Beloff retires.

    - We pursue the CAT case right through next season.

    Have I got that right?

It literally just posted a few pages back.

  5. Just been over there for a quick squint at their concerns. One poster wrote that it's the managers lack of tactical nouse despite Sunderland having "the best squad in this league."
Three or four posts further down a different poster bemoans using a 4-2-2-2 formation when they have "the oldest and slowest midfielders in the league."
Surely they can't both be right?

Imagine the scenes if this is all about compo, some will explode .

    The Claimant seeks:

(1)Damages for loss of profit or, alternatively, loss of opportunity.

(2)An injunction requiring the Defendant to withdraw the Director Decision and/or to reconsider the same.

    (3)Interest.

    (4)Costs.

(5)Such further or other relief as the Tribunal considers appropriate.

Whatever the end result is, this is not only about compo... This is getting ridiculous that people keep spouting bullshit like this.

Sorry lads I’m completely lost at what’s going on, I will try and put it how I see it.

The lawyers Ashley has hired , simply no news on what they are doing and where they are at with it? Expensive flop?

Some bloke called Keith is taking the PL to court and having more success on anti competition laws?

However the PL as ever are stringing this out and we have no idea when a court case will start .

leaving me thinking this could take years?

where am I going wrong? Lads?

This is where you wrong. This is a government court, https://www.catribunal.org.uk/ , the PL can't just ignore it and "stringing things out". It has exact time line. You can go to the website and read it for yourself. From what I gather, Friday is the deadline for the PL to answer, if they ignore it they will be in trouble.

And this is another example people ignore the clear fact so they can put negativity into takeover. Maybe it's a defense mechanism for being too long under Ashley's abuse? Who knows?

Of course he wants that - then it's win win for him - compo and a sale of the club.

But him 'wanting' means nothing in the grand scale of things.  Ashley hasn't suddenly become Robin Hood - he's only interested in one thing - himself.  He has seen a chance to make some money and he's taken it.  Do you really think he Is spending his own cash just in the 'hope' that it 'may' bring the buyers back to the table?

I am not trying to be negative just realistic.  Yes I am happy he's taking the PL to court as there is no doubt in my mind that the big six put pressure on the PL to block the sale.  My point is if he wins his case - it doesn't mean the club will then be sold.  All it means the people running the PL are the shady people we all suspected and Ashley walks away with a fat cheque.  Newcastle United are still at the same point  - 'hoping' the buyers come back to the table.

The difference between optimist and negativist, sorry realist is that you dont believe in Amanda Staveley interview and other thing that points to the takeover still on the table. I dont know why but maybe because that way you can still spin the negativity into the takeover story.

  9. 4 minutes ago, duo said:

I still don't get the link between this and the takeover.  Sounds like Ashley wants compensation and will get it if he wins.  How does that help the club?

    :Face pam:

    This again :headshakes:

Its already been discussed that Ashley indeed wants compo but he also wants the PL to reconsider the ODT result in NUFC favour.

    Source: the CAT websites.

But I have feeling that some people just dont want to acknowlegde that and keep going with their narative that Ashley just wants compo, so they can keep going with their "take over is never happen" negativity.

  10. And people think that Fulham can beat Manchester Red in old trafford when they couldn't even score a single goal against Burnley at home....

I'm not sure what's worse for them promotion or staying where they are

Staying in L1 would be worse in my opinion. And hopefully they go down another level to L2 next season if they are staying in L1.

It starts directly after the 29th day of Ramadan and the length is based on moon cycles, hence why it is called last minute.

source - I live in the UAE. GCC all have varying days for their public holidays, but none are anywhere close to 10-14 days.

Yeah after 29th of Ramadan which in gregorian calendar 11th of May (tuesday) so the Eid either star on Wednesday or Thursday. Public holiday in my country only lasted for 2 days, but the celebration can lasted up to a week.

Why? It’s a forum, the idea is to share views and opinions. I live in Qatar and I’ve been told and I’ve seen myself with big clients that something positive will happen, I’m sharing something that I feel is really acceptable to the forum. What’s wrong with that?

Nothing i my personal opinion, but I don't speak for the rest of the forum

Don’t post a lot, as from what I hear here in qatar from big local Qatari clients that we deal with, the Saudi takeovers agreed (Ashley’s statement is putting more pressure on EPL to conclude quicker) and its verbally closed off with EPL and it’s just a formality which will happen after Ramadan. Bare in mind EID break is for the next 2 weeks for all government companies etc within then GCC.. from Sunday.

Take it as what you will but I’m just passing it on, bare in mind the information I had previously from the same clients, they were very precise  on about project zebra previously as well as RB potentially coming back as manager to streamline there project (NUFC) hence why he’s held back on offers of job roles...

    Ow ow... Oh no...

Get ready Sir, a barrage of abuse will be directed at you for posting that...
