  1. DCL becomes sellable if he signs. He's a good player who's played in a poor team for a number of years now, but given the right set up, with the number of chances we create he'll be an extremely useful addition who will allow us to use our resources on more critical positions.
  2. Nah, not on the wind up. I watched a few vids on him when we were first linked, then decided to watch some full games, and he's a brilliant player. Physically, has it all. He's hard working, a fantastic dribbler, very good finisher and technically brilliant - rarely loses the ball cheaply, but the thing that impresses me the most is his vision. He's one of those players who sees things others don't. Almost Özil-esque with some of his passing. There's a reason the 3 richest clubs in the world are after him.
  3. If so, fair enough but I massively disagree. When Luis Campos and Pep are sniffing around you, you're not just a league proven player, you're a player who they think will be at the very highest level and I agree, plus players from France generally adapt really well to the PL. Sidenote to that, that would be both Paul Mitchel and Luis Campos who have seen something in him.
  4. I'm not sure what r/r is
  5. He's got absolutely everything. There's a reason the elite clubs and Man Utd are after him.
  6. Might be being delusional but I'd put our pull right the way up there at the moment. We're currently the best team in the most watched league in the world and constantly growing with a new stadium in the works. It's all gonna be fresh in players memories come the summer, plus the pathway to the first team is almost guaranteed, respectfully to Murphy.
  7. It's definitely not. When Man City want him, you know he's a player and a half. He's twice the player Mbuemo is, for reference on value.
  8. He's played at other clubs
  9. I will keep banging this drum, but Akliouche is the player we should be signing.

    Harvey Barnes

Aside from being absolutely clinical, I love his link up play. Makes such a big difference knowing when to release the ball and not only does he do that, his weight of pass is fantastic too.
  11. I wonder if Murphy being so effective on his natural side is causing a bit of a conundrum for Howe with whether to bring in a right footed right winger. I'd love to see the number of goals we've scored from crosses/passes using the natural angle.
  12. Isak + KDB though Ooooof
  13. Tonali I'd say. Was all noise coming out about Barella then Tonali ended up coming out the wash.
  14. Cuhna has a feel of one of those players the club references when they say they're not been looking to do business but will make a move if the right player comes up. On one hand, he'd absolutely solidify our depth in the front 5. On the other, it'd be somewhat a square peg in a round hole if they used the limited funds we have to purchase and play him at RW at the expense of specialist RWinger. Don't think either school of thought is wrong tbh.
  15. Wouldn't want him to be highest earner but I'd absolutely take DCL on a free!! Possibly the 2nd best free transfer striker out there and would free up significant funds for our 2 other key areas, plus he's actually a good player playing in a shit team...we've seen that play before.

Think you can fairly assess a player on the sort of attributes he has, pace, control, dribbling, workrate etc. I'm not saying he played well or has played well in the past, but I don't see anything fundamentally wrong with his skillet and in fact has a number of desirable qualities I honestly think he can make huge strides with game if he improves his decision making skills - which is a broad category- but also his composure in key moments. He's certainly created a number of half chances for himself which is a skill in itself and a strong indicator of a players quality. There's definitely a player in there imo.

You can see all the raw ingredients a mile off. I'm genuinely excited by him but he's got to learn arguably the 2 most difficult things, decision making and finishing. Everything else he seems to have in abundance.
  18. Watched so much of him since we've been linked and I'm absolutely certain he's destined for the top. My number 1 signing. This guy is sensational.

    Harvey Barnes

Think I read that Shearer told him he needs to be dishing em out if he wasn't getting the service. Elite athlete mentality. The squad know it.
  20. No small fee either. They've definitely seen something in him so wouldn't turn my nose up at that signing at all.
  21. I get the sense Quansah's one of those players they've had their eye on for far longer than we'd ever know. I completely trust they know a top player when they see one.

As a player who's constantly dishing out bollockings, I loved that Isak took it well too.

He's such an intelligentplayer - always seems to release the ball at the right time. Don't think it's a coinicident Tino has looked fantastic on that side whilst playing alongside Barnes. I'd noticed this too with Hall when he'd come on late in games, the 3 of them seemed to link up so well (Joe, Barnes and Hall) and Barnes always seemed at the centre of it. Maybe a lesson for Gordon as whilst individually he's far better he does have a tendency to hold on a little too long at times.
