  1. Heard a mackem discussing some groundwork we've got going on at graft the other day. He said, very excitedly, "they had two Komatsus". Sounded amazing

Another gem from Sporty. The daft cunts even outdone himself this time. It's going to be great seeing their world fall apart again as they're stuck in bottom place throughout the season, until they slide back down to their rightful place

How can it be that nobody has yet managed to make a genuine footballing and commercial success of the buy-'em-cheap-and-young-flog-'em-for-billions model they're planning to operate..?  It all seems so straightforward

Did Ivan Campo play for Bolton that day? (I was there - sitting in East Stand) Jussi Jaskilienen will have been in goal for them - Kevin Nolan may have played too.

Former Premier League referee David Coote has been charged by the Football Association for comments made about ex-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in a video that was leaked on social media.

Go to prison for calling cunts cunts these days

  5. I got Pistone and Lee

It was 1998, reffed by Graham Poll in front of 36.7k, and according to Premier League website we went:

    Hislop

    Pistone, Peacock, Beresford, Pearce, Barton

    Gillespie, Lee, Barnes, Watson

    Tomasson

Shearer on for Barnes on 72, Ketsbaia on for Tomasson on 79

  6. Apropos of nothing how many of the rest of the team that were playing the day that Temuri Ketsbaia kicked fuck out of the advertising boards can you name without googling?

(Just players at the time is ok obviously, I don't expect folk to recall who started or was substituted against Bolton nearly 30 years ago )

Came up today, although we were thinking match squad only.  I got a majestic 2 not including TK

I was slightly annoyed when I found out the singer from yourcodenameis:Milo was a mackem

Aye, his codename was actually Mah-loah

  8. Aye it's just a bit of an unpleasantly personal way to make that point, taking somebody's picture which was presumably just to share among friends and making it public.

The principle is absolutely bang on as ever  it's just a pretty poor way to demonstrate it (imo, it's nowt to do with me of course)

  9. It's just some folk going for their dinner  I am all for the rights of street photographers to practice their art and I 100% believe that interesting pictures taken in public places are fair game (I got called out for it a few times on here for doing it myself), but this is literally just a picture personal to a small group of people and with zero journalistic or historical or artistic merit, that folk are being invited to laugh at. Deluded have missed the mark here like

  10. Futureheads and Kenickie were both fucking class like, the Better At The Music argument is a dismal one. Plenty to be proud of from both areas and all the acts that made it big from either city will have served their time in both of them

Henderson would be sensible in the sense they have very little, if any premier league experience in their squad.

Literally just one lad who was at Fulham a few years ago, according to a friend of mine (even then we just assumed Fulham were in the PL at the time, didn't check). Can't remember who the player was though.

Has anyone told them "Wise men say" was sung by a bloke from Tennessee?

Aye but the river he referenced in the song was the Wear marra

  13. "Blaydon isn't in Newcastle therefore Blaydon Races isn't about Newcastle" is about the same level of mackematics that allows them to draw in tiny pit villages in the wilds of County Durham as legit support, but at the same time if we weren't born on Fenwicks' doorstep then there's probably a more appropriate club to support than NUFC

Another thick fucker. Scotswood Road is in Newcastle, honestly man [emoji38], the fuckers were crying their eyes out when the Durham cricket team started using it.

There are references to Newcastle literally all the way through it  barely a verse that doesn't reference exactly where it's about

    Scotswood Road

    Balmbra's

    Collingwood Street

    Blaydon

    Armstrong's Factory

    The Robin Adair

    The Chain Bridge

    Blaydon Mechanics' Hall

  15. Just the two I mentioned, plus Emma Kelly who isn't getting a game and Elysia Boddy I think. Oh and the reserve keeper Hannah Hawkins I think she is now, previously Reid.

I accept it's the nature of football and the price of ambition but it's pretty soulless for the match going fan imo

With the turnover of players I am over the moon that PSR has prevented us doing the same with the men's team. I found this last season more difficult than the previous two as changing 6 or 7 first teamers took away alot of the enjoyment.

Yeah, I posted very similar to this at the end of last season when the first purge took place, and I only went to one game this season.  It proved to me that it's not just about the kit and the name of the club.

Jas McQuade and Charlotte Potts were the clear standout performers for me from the national league season and it's good to see them kept on (although I don't think Pottsy played last season did she?) but the wholesale change of playing staff otherwise must have dented other people's enthusiasm as well
