  1. Is there any actual argument about restriction of trade and anticompetition etc etc if you're voluntarily running a football club with the purpose of competing in the Premier League's competition? I keep reading about legal challenges and what have you, but surely the PL can just say 'wey it's our competition and nobody is forcing them to compete in it; if they can find a league that runs exactly as they want it to run, they're welcome to play in it'
  2. I wish those miserable antisport cunts at the top had just fucked off to form their WWE superleague and we had ended up with less wealthy owners just playing Everton and West Ham and Sunderland and the like in an actual competition
  3. Yeah that's exactly my take they've absolutely crushed this league, they deserve a shot at it imo. Concern is that they will see the inevitable writing on the wall regarding some sort of ffp restrictions and will want to get the final promotion asap to avoid that.
  4. Yeah, I understand of course that it was always going to happen and I hope they go on to be absolute world beaters. I'm sure they will
  5. Aye, I'm not actively against Newcastle doing it for exactly that reason (everybody else with any success is doing the same). It just feels a bit hollower than I thought it would. I suppose the bigger part of me does want to see how Tyler Dodds and Hannah Greenwood and the like get on at the next level rather than just being replaced with known quantities who are ready to go, even at the expense of progression. They'll still be my team, this is where I was born after all, but the prospect of this year's lasses who have played so well and steamrollered all (well, most) comers being broken up and moved on without kicking a ball is a miserable one.
  6. If they change 80% of the team I probably won't bother so much next year like, fully accept that they really bought the league this year as well but it's not something I love. I'd still go to some but the whole Doing A Man City thing leaves me colder than I thought it would. Nonleague is increasingly appealing to me
  7. Other than at the final, Elson has played pretty well over the course of the season to be fair to her, and scored a few herself. Would be disappointed to see her go without really getting a proper run at it but I guess it's time to be ruthless. Did Hannah Reid have anything to do?
  8. I would have thought they would try to go for some WSL players like, we already have a crowd and maybe a stadium in advance of what some will be used to calling home I guess, and some could probably be bought.
  9. +11 Will be nice to be able to watch the results on the BBC website next year
  10. Still 0-1 so staying put in the champo as things stand
  11. Greenwood is a really versatile player, proper little unsung hero in that team. Not as quick to decide what to do as Potts but she's solid.
  12. Pretty rare to get live coverage away from Kingston Park, the grounds they're playing at are not particularly high level most of the time. I would have liked to see it as well though
  13. That was my first thought like Turn it into an actual football stadium. I wonder if they have or are considering approaching NUFC. Maybe the council are playing a blinder and are expecting exactly that approach
  14. Assume she's playing Kacie Elson and Tyler Dodds either side of her, Boddy McQuade and Kelly in the middle and back 4 of the rest? Not always easy to tell like. Interested to know how the defence looks without Charlotte Potts, let us know
  15. Nice one, I think she could be great there given a couple of weeks in the position
  16. Sub keeper finally given a run today. No keeper on the bench. Bartle back in the squad as well
