I've never been 100% confident, but I'm not any less confident because it's taking considerably more time than people who are not involved in the process said it should take Ashley's continued silence speaks volumes to me.

Do people think the WTO have any jurisdiction here? It's entitled to its opinion but it's not a criminal court and as I recall the germane part of the test related to criminality? FWIW I wouldn't be in the least surprised that this dragging out is to give the exercise a veneer of rigour. If they're still asking questions, it's very much still ongoing. It's when they stop asking questions and we've still heard nowt that we should worry (imo).

This one's better anyway tbh

That's the attitude kidda

It used to be called the Manchester Guardian but I think it's a long way from its northern roots now I don't think they hate Newcastle United nearly as much as they hate Saudi Arabia, but at the end of the day they're just like any other news source; you have to look past their angle to find the actual news and make your own mind up

Why would the opinion of the WTO carry more weight than the judgement of a French court who (apparently) have already ruled on this matter..? I mean, the thread was ready for its periodic course correction but the extremes of mood are getting ever more extreme now

I'm extremely surprised that you're taking this position

Did the Sun's report this morning start with "NEWCASTLE'S £300million takeover is done" or has that just been added..?

please don't ruin the thread's (possible) glorious (possible) culmination with a Government Response To Coronavirus subtext

Aye, but they haven't chosen to do it thus far (for a good few days anyway) so I'm taking it as another sign of progress
