  1. You’re not the only one. Defensively I feel he’s elite but with the ball I don’t think he’s very good at all. If he wants to be regarded as a solid modern full back and play regularly for England he has to improve on his flaws.
  2. Probably too strong a word but this felt like a loss although I would have taken a draw before the match.
  3. Solid performance although Villa were surprisingly weak. Points dropped and very likely to get battered by Salah next week. Wissa needs to come in asap.
  4. This. Some fans are not looking at the bigger picture. Reality is that the ‘Top 6’ can have multiple rolls of the dice to get it right. Going there and flopping does not hugely diminish their chances of getting a move elsewhere e.g. Saudi. Even Liverpool youngsters who have barely played are getting big money moves abroad. Their names are a big pull. In Saudi I’d imagine fans have fave PL teams that they support. Saudi teams buying castoffs from the ‘Top 6’ generates greater interest regardless if they are past their peak or flopped at those PL clubs.
  5. Fair point but depends if Liverpool really wanted him as much as Isak now. Isak is one of the best strikers in the world and probably feels he has outgrown us. Gordon’s ego and status has not reached those levels.
  6. Can see Isak being adamant and throwing toys out of the pram further. Don’t think many, if at all in this squad, (possibly Gordon) would act like this in this circumstance. Really unprofessional, childish and disrespectful to the staff, players, fans and the shirt. Hope there’s a way back but I don’t think he cares anymore tbh.
  7. Think Sesko supports Man Utd. They will eventually find a way. Another one bites the dust
  8. Sesko Cunha Mbeumo Fernandes Some attack that
  9. I'd keep Miley as he has the basic capabilities to play holding midfield and can drive forward without losing the ball. Willock injury has screwed us over if he was meant to go Fulham. We need more press resistant players in the team.
  10. Isak-->SESKO Wilson-->WISSA Dubravka-->RAMSDALE Longstaff--> Creative hard working midfielder (e.g. Pacqueta, Harvey Elliott, Ramsay) Pacy RCB Another CM on the cheap Time is running out but this would still enable us to compete across all comps.

    Marc Guehi

If there’s a 45% chance of us signing Sesko I’d say there’s less than a 5% chance of signing Guehi. He is so close to getting a bumper contract at a regular champs league club if he waits a few more months - would be insane to come to us right now.
  12. Saga not over - over to Isak and his agent to escalate. Players have been refused transfers before and thrown a strop but still had the fans chanting their name after player refocuses. Isak must not be allowed to leave due to these reasons: 1) The Carabao cup final win was like a dream yet if he is sold the images of the winner will be tainted if we cannot continue our upward trajectory and fail to win a trophy for years. This is because the winner would have been scored by one of our most hated players who chose to leave to our most hated club where he and they go on to dominate Europe. 2) The optics are bad. We were meant to consolidate our position and rival Liverpool on and off the pitch. It would appear as a lack of ambition and our most talented players will continue to compare their wage packet against lesser players who earn almost double for doing less and winning more. If we fail to get champs league / have a poor season Tino, Gordon and their agents could push for moves. Force him to stay and sell him, even if his value depreciates significantly, next year to ANYONE but Liverpool.
  13. Interest from other parties who can offer significantly higher wages. A year is a long time so things can change. It mainly always boils down to money. Guehi can either jump from 50K to circa 110k here at Newcastle or to 180K+ at another club
  14. . Just being realistic. This summer has brought most fans down to earth and we have to accept that if we cannot offer premium wages to premium players who are courted by other big clubs then most likely: a) we cannot sign them b) we cannot keep them I would love to proved wrong on Geuhi. Right now whenever we are linked with players these days I would always ask the question "Can we offer higher wages than the competing club?" If the answer is no then it doesn't matter if they are going to be on bench of the competing club they would 9 times out of 10 choose them over us. If, for example, AC Milan matched our offer for Sven Botman a few years ago (including wages) then Botman goes there no doubt. The same applies to all the players we love: Bruno, Tonali, Isak for a Top 6 club. There is loyalty and then there is financial security. Younger players especially would seek financial security in a sport where your career could be potentially cut short. In Wissa's case there are a number of factors that put us in realistic contention: 1) This is his career peak at the age of 29 - best time to ask for high wages (wages which would not break NUFC's structure). He could wait to go next year but who knows what could happen e.g. injury or no offers from Champs League clubs next summer 2) No other club are in for him. They say Spurs are interested but I feel they are stacked in that area. If Spurs do come in then he goes to them with the nearby London and possibly slightly higher wages being major factors 3) Slight factor - Newcastle could provide an easier path to Saudi and higher wages should he wish to do so in the next couple of years. He will also get significant game time here.
  15. Guehi was interested in coming last year - I think there is zero chance he joins us now. He may be better off signing a pre-contract and moving next summer for free to Liverpool or another major European club where he can earn at least 100K more a week than he would earn at NUFC. Alternatively, Liverpool lowball and Crystal Palace reluctantly accept in the end. These two scenarios are far more likely than Guehi turning down lucrative offers at more prestigious and higher paying clubs to join NUFC.
