People forget Barnes was bought the summer before Gordon was exceptional and had already showed signs of being disgruntled 90% of fans would have sold Gordon that window and Barnes if fit would have likely started more games. Fate played a different hand for both players but the club had their own doubts in my eyes

Basically nobody knows what's going on behind closed doors in our boardroom, the court case or the premier league yet we are all becoming experts on things people have no previous knowledge on. So for my what ifs... What if the club could spend 70 million on players this summer but were waiting to find out if the court case went in our favour and we were able to spend 200 million this winter? What if we could announce a legit sponsorship with a company for 50 million but again if the court case went in our favour we could get a related party deal over the line for 200 million. We don't even have cryptic bread posts from the football lawyer to give us a hint. We just have to ride it out and see what happens next.

I really don't mind them starting a super league as long as they close the door behind them. I mean how would they even justify making it a level playing ground if the cartel are earning four or five times the other clubs in the league?

To be fair if you go far enough back we have had wars with the majority of the world... So it all ends up English only and Big Sams redemption! But in all seriousness if we had a premier league with 20 English managers, one would win the league and three would be relegated (and I reckon it would be the same clubs as now). Just that the big clubs went foreign first and then teams who were challenging for Europe and gradually even lower league teams. The pot is so small that you end up having u21 coaches being pushed to be first team managers

So just to get up to speed. Will it take a while to change the current rules to stop us. Or will it take a while to change the current rules that are stopping us now?

It just looked like extra time in the latter stages of a cup.. where you just chuck your best players on and hope for the best. Spain won a tournament without a striker but that was a well worked team that were all comfortable on the ball and knew their role. Our midfield play without a plan or a desire to pass to each other. They certainly didn't help themselves or the manager secure their future

Greece was always going to be the hardest game... Seems strange to try and introduce whole new system. Plus some of the players look like Temu version of themselves.

I was thinking more the quick breaks we used to do where the ball is played across the ground rather than in the air. If we could isolate Isak or Gordon against one or two defenders for pace I'm confident we would have more success. At the moment we condense the final third and struggle to find the killer ball

Personally i believe it's down to having wingers who look to shoot or don't play the ball to the forward at the earliest opportunity... same as mid week against Wimbledon. Only Murphy is a natural crosser of the ball. Barnes, cuts in shoots Gordon, drives into the box before either shooting or cutting his angle off. Miggy, defends his own attacks by either running the ball out or passing backwards. Always remember Shearer saying he grabbed Ginola after a game and told him to stop cutting back and cross the f'ing ball

Not sure out health and safety regulations are the same as Russia's when it comes to temporary stands.... Just add a couple of these bad boys to Gateshead or Kingston Park for a year when we rebuild lol
