interview with Gordon from todays programme.

talked about the dummy spit at Brentford last season:

One notable misstep came in United's win at Brentford in April, when his petulant reaction to being replaced late on - having only come on as a substitute himself at half time - brought headlines. It must be strange to have the mistakes he says he learns so much from play out in a very public domain. "Yeah, but I think also sometimes I haven't helped myself, that moment being one. That's probably the worst moment of my footballing career, to be fair. I am quite emotional with football, and I think that's a positive, but there's certain situations where you've just got to handle them in the correct way and I definitely didn't in that moment.

"But it was another opportunity to learn for me. I'm still a young lad and I'm going to make mistakes. I wasn't too worried about what people thought of me. I sort of accepted it was a mistake and spoke to the manager, apologised, and he was excellent throughout that process. Our relationship is as good as it's ever been right now, probably because of those things - we've been through those experiences to where we are now."

Indeed. Seems completely implausible unless he got a helicopter back.

This was the Sunday night apparently, article said Howe gave them 2 days off post City

  3. To be fair to him, everyone is saying he is bad with the ball at his feet and that was true when we last saw him play regularly, under Bruce.

it’s not inconceivable to imagine this area of his game has improved after nearly 2 years of Howe. He played a brilliant ‘schar’ ball to Gordon in the pre season friendly against Villa.

Let me rephrase myself then. I don't think he is slow in taking the decisions when he see the options, as in before receiving the ball. I do feel however that he is a bit slow on register what is going on when he doesn't know where his team mates are. I guess the situational awareness that the most elite players have is what I feel that he lack little, but maybe I'm just bitter cunt that imagining myself stuff.

I wasn’t having a go, just the chance I mentioned immediately sprung to mind when reading your post.

I think what you have said above may improve in time the longer he spends with his team mates; or he just might not be that level - only time will tell.

Don't want to be too harsch on him but I don't like that he don't seem that quick in his decision making. I think he is very good when he got time with the ball and can clearly see his options but I often think the play goes too slow when the balls get to his feet and we need to be quick on the transition.

His first time ball for Tonali’s 2nd chance last week did have much time for thought tbf.

  6. Watching last night I felt we could have done with this lad playing, his versatility could have maybe allowed us to alter our shape a bit more in stages.

Unless the player puts in a transfer request, 99.99% of the time the terms of the contract need to be paid in full, he has 3 years left @£5m per season. (Why do you think we haven’t just released Frazer if that was the case)

Are you saying that if we sell him we need to pay him what he would earn over his full contract, up front?

    surely that’s not right

I used to do that but it didn’t do it with this one for some reason!

  9. The great thing about isak and Wilson is that whoever comes on off the bench, will never just settle to seeing the game out. They both want to score every game so having someone coming on with that hunger later in the game is great.

I feel like since Isak came there has been so many times they have both scored in the same game despite both not starting.
