Bless. I think if it was roles reversed I might clutch onto the idea that being owned by Richie Rich was better, even though his family have done countless deals with the Saudis. The difference being we're looking up to the elite and they can't even see our backside.

The speed but not the outcome.
  3. It always surprises me how many of the football writers/media in these parts don't actually know anything of the game. Like they can't articulate the tactics or how the play runs. It's not like they're stellar story tellers either.
  4. Mad that Edwards has never been asked to update on Henry Mauriss.
  5. Milan have some pretty shrewd data kids in charge so the fact they are after him bodes well. I'm not hugely concerned by this. There's no major benefit for Lille in taking a loan so I'd be surprised if they agreed.
  6. He loves a bit of that does Graves. Wants to have the fanbase in his palm but knows nothing of note.
  7. Schira is totally full of shit. Trying to be the next Romano by employing the same scattergun copy and paste approach.

The decision to join Everton while our fate was still unknown. When he was announced we were hearing that there was no viable way for them to stop the takeover. I can promise you their chats with Rafa would have been a lot more informative and clear on timelines etc. I love the guy, but he was never going to be a success there. There's a reason only one man had done it before him in 129 years. Even the briefings coming out painted him as 'the best they could get'. I admire his work ethic, but for someone that has spent his whole career wanting total control it baffles me why he wouldn't wait another six months to a year. He'd have had chance to shape this club in every conceivable way, and basically been seen as the man that ushered in a revolution at a success starved club. He's never really done that before either. He's usually only ever done it at clubs with a past. Even if he hadn't worked with Liverpool previously, what is appealing about that job? No disrespect to Everton, but you're going into a two team city in which the other team is streets ahead and you've got no money to change things. Throw in that a good portion hate you, it just screams dumb idea.

I think he's going to regret the Everton/Newcastle decision for a long old while.
  10. Been watching his highlights online, and he's a surprisingly good outlet in an attacking sense. Can cross but also spot a pass in behind.
  11. I didn't say you had, hence why I didn't ascribe it to you. I was speaking in reference to your initial point about 'people being concerned'. I think it's safe to say no one at PIF is speaking because, well, I doubt many of them are involved day to day. Then you're looking at the Reubens, but I'd be surprised. We know who takes care of things Monday-Sunday. You're entitled to disagree, but I'd urge you to look at how much flack she took during the takeover and yet she persisted, and it came to pass. I have been critical in the past as I'd heard some horror stories from contacts at Liverpool, but with us, she did get the deal done and she deserves even some semblance of patience. We're two days into our first window, months after our first managerial appointment.
  12. Respectfully, the flaw in your premise is that it's definitely the owners briefing the likes of Hope and Edwards. Also, if you remember the full fallout from Emery it turned out he changed his demands at the last second and essentially went against an agreed deal and used his contacts -some of whom have vested interests in the middle east- to push stories about how annoyed he was at them going early. It's very easy to paint Staveley as incompetent or full of bluster because of her failed takeovers in the past and because she's a woman in football. I don't rule out that they're still treating these deals like traditional business deals and seeing the final details as inconsequential, but I also think she's been the victim of some bad faith reporting and assumption.
  13. I'd not read what the reason for Sarr's situation was, but with Dennis it was claimed Nigeria had missed a deadline to call him up.
  14. Honestly far too many in this parish (on Twitter) forget the shit we were in and start filling their pants at the first sign of friction.
  15. Always think Championship strikers are hit and miss. Not seen enough to know which one he is, but trust those who get paid for this.
  16. Icardi is another one worth avoiding. Not great in open play and a head case.
  17. Two injury prone strikers with the potential for a combined 30-40 goals.
  18. I wouldn't touch Ramsey right now. We need six game changers not fitness risks.
  19. Can't decide how to feel about the Chelsea stuff. If he goes there it's pure short term. This is potential for a long term pay day or a quick release if we go down.
  20. Tbf we do have FFP to consider. We can't go hell for leather.
  21. Welling up at the computer reading about us signing good players.
  22. This would be our second most expensive transfer in club history.
  23. Did he win biggest disappointment?
