Who else they had on the Patreon recently?

He pulled up the other night. He'll be a great illustration of how serious their owner is and what money he has. Broadhead is a cut above most of their attackers and shouldn't cost the earth.

Honestly, for all of the Guardian and sports writer types slating these two, they'd be wise to remember why what they do resonates so strongly. Mike Ashley created the separation that makes these two able to connect so easily with fans. We spent 14 years never hearing from our owner and with less sporting integrity than the weekly kick about at GOALS. I'm never ignorant to who our owners are and what they've done, but the notion I'm responsible for their arrival or the fact so many have welcomed them with open arms is ludicrous.

Ooof. Well then with £200k we should be able to start some sort of charity initiative.
-
First order has to be stopping further donations. I think the second step is to offer a refund to those that want it, and for those who don't give the money to a local charity/set up something as they alluded to when setting things up.

An American/South American club is probably the smart play.

I have so many questions about what this will actually manifest as. Say we get a percentage 1%-3%. Who sacrifices that? How does the voice of trust members actually crystalise? I see how much disagreement there is here. I can't imagine how much would crop up at a Trust meeting, and with the greatest respect, while all voices matter equally in this scenario, some will have more valuable contributions than others.

City also have the eyes of the world at their disposal. Got chatting to someone fairly high up at one of their clubs and basically they are as close to mapping the whole world as any club.

Lads, when was the last time we went into a transfer window full of buzz and excitement. No ones killing this for me, can't wait.

Crypto and NFTs have been sold as political protest because it's a great marketing angle. In reality, those banging the drum the loudest utter a lot of the same stuff that people who've made Herbalife or Avon successful. Get in early on this stuff and you may make a canny profit, but your success is built on the failures of others.

Wouldn't mind Sander Berge.

NFT's are basically charging folk for desktop wallpapers.

I mean what I'd like and what I expect are different things. I don't know the record for January arrivals but even six feels like a lot so you're going to have to take a punt on only one part of the spine getting minimum improvement.
-
No chance we're scrubbing the whole team. If we could get even a serviceable DM we'd be massively improved. Jonjo has shown something of late. CBs, Fullbacks, DM and a backup to Wilson is realistic.

He gets my vote.

Pretty sure it was Leverkusen not Nuremberg that Shearer broke.

Cacapa was a particular low point and I felt very sorry for him. To try and adapt to a more physically demanding league at his age was impossible. In a modern back three maybe he works, but it was a highlight to how few strings the Allardyce bow had.

They're an ok passing side for League One level. They're also very physically weak for a team in that division.

I mean, you could go down rabbit holes about how Sam got the best out of those older players, but I still think the ones he did sign were awful. We paid Man Utd £6m for a crocked Alan Smith when Man City were picking up Elano for £2m more and Blackburn got Santa Cruz for half that. He just didn't have a good eye for what we needed and so fell on to 'old reliable'. We shifted Parker and Dyer for £12m and replaced it with Geremi and Joey Barton. I don't disagree he may have had a hard hand to play but in many ways it proves my point that when he tried to utilise those same tactics he showed that a Bolton type club was his ceiling. Even at more recent gigs like Sunderland his players aged like milk the second that he left.

I'd be devastated if my family or friend was one of these internet fans. Journalists I can understand but anything past a podcast is just begging to be slapped.

Ashworth would be a fascinating appointment for my money. He's clearly taken insights from the Udinese/Benfica/Porto model where it's best to speculate on a number of promising youngsters very early in their career in the hope a few graduate to massive success. It would intrigue me how he'd handle bigger budgets and greater attraction compared to rivals. Sam Allardyce was a prime example of someone that totally tanked when he came here.

They're desperate to be fucking relevant man. Last night was the first time they've had mainstream coverage and it surmounted to 'the bumbling locals were swindled by two cockney geezers, but don't worry friends they've now got a dashing young European fellow who can't tell them how much he owns! Check in next week on 'y always us leek'

No disrespect to the lad but he'd be daft to move in January. Get a full season under your belt and play regularly. Too often a player in form swaps it for a league above and loses everything that helped elevate their game. Anyway, I'm off to North Shields vs Whitley Bay Monday before our game.

Another one with a good agent and enough friends to stay busy. Shame as his reinvention as a deep lying midfielder was fun to watch.
