All depends on who we get in a who leaves as to whether he should go out on loan. Which I why I suspect he's still here training with thr 1st team. If he does go out on loan, that club needs to be picked carefully. Ideally it would be a club challenging for promotion but that's not always easy to predict.

Not really sure he's suited to how Howe wants to play, other than the fact he's got energy to close down and make runs. He isn't technically good enough to play in the CM role I don't think. The fact I'd pick Shelvey there over him right now says alot. He's better off being moved further forward like others have suggested.

Seems ridiculous if not. Black, White and all primary colours should be allowed so as to provide the best contrast on kits (especially striped ones). Red is notoriously difficult to spot at a distance especially when colourblind.

I disagree, I know you say other players don't do that but that's because Shelvey is his own player, he drops that deeps so that he isn't as pressured on the ball and if the opportunity arises he has space and time to play those long balls over the top. I'm surprised you think Howe isn't 100% all over it when it comes to this kind of stuff. He won't be letting Shelvey just do whatever the fuck he wants, it's all worked on everyday in training and is dropping deep between CBs is something they will have talked about and been instructed to do.
