£70m for 23/24 Gordon is a good deal for Barca/Bayern if that's what they get. I think he'll do particularly well in Germany but he'd put up good numbers in Spain too. Will be interesting to see how he goes in the massive games. I don't want to lose him but we've had three and a half seasons, we're going to make a healthy profit, it looks like he's going abroad and it will help fund the squad refresh we desperately need. Plus it looks like getting sorted quickly.

It does need to be more than a one season thing imo. Even demoting them to the Championship, they'd be back to finishing top four the season after. It would need to be more than -10 though. If it was up to me it'd be -20 for 5+ seasons.

I've said ever since public opinion started to shift post-Barca/Derby that I was going to see how the final 7 games played out. Few injuries, plenty of time to train, fairly standard set of fixtures. I wanted to see some evidence that, at the very least, he can get a team playing fairly well once per week. I also hoped for some evidence of some variance in our patterns of play and anything to suggest that next season won't just be a case of "Try the same thing again with a few new players". We've got 7 points from those games and ended up where we started (12th). I haven't seen today's game but there doesn't seem to be much to be encouraged by and it seems that the most recent source of positivity is a good run of results over a year ago.
