  1. We know how much it is - just over £30m + ticket sales Edit - and as nufcnick pointed out, it’s in this year’s accounts, not next year’s
  2. Personally I hope the club does lots of a wheeling and a dealing this summer before the greater constraints of the new PSR rules kick in
  3. At least LOST came to an end … We should be able to have a summer window a bit like last year’s. And if we actually manage to sell some players, we could spend a lot of money
  4. It’s neither yes nor no. The constraints remain, though the worst of it has dropped off the books. The club will know what the FFP loss is for this season - revenue will be up by c.£50-60m, but also wages will have increased significantly plus the amortised Barnes, Tonali, Livramento and Hall fees will have been added to the £90m in transfer amortisation (though ASM’s sales will cover a chunk of that).
  5. We ran a £70m loss on £250m income last year and we’ve added significantly more in wages and fees this season. Of course, some of those losses are deductible for FFP purposes, but increases in revenue don’t necessarily mean that there’s suddenly loads of money to spend. 21/22 dropping off will offer wiggle-room again though.
  6. The football financial year runs 1st July - 30th June. Jan 22 is part of the 21/22 season accounts - from July it is the 22/23, 23/24 and 24/25 accounts which count. Then from 25/26 it’s the new PSR rules
  7. The Jan 22 window doesn’t count this summer
  8. Civil and structural engineers will need to do wonders - but the laws of physics don’t change. I’m still scratching my head as to how you meet the foundation requirements over the top of a Metro station.
  9. They wouldn’t need to - my understanding from RTG is that if Saudi Arabia had taken over Sunderland, not one of them would attend another game. Because they have their morals.
  10. No, I definitely wouldn’t - but I’m also aware of how childish I am in that regard. The difference is that for the Mackems their board would likely love the money that would come their way; but of course their fans would be in open revolt
  11. It follows the Aussie FY perfectly - 1/7 to 30/6 The UK tax year starts 6/4 each year. This is the result of a change from the Julian to Gregorian calendars - 25/3 used to be New Year’s Day, and when the calendar changed they ran it through the standard 365 days to arrive in April. Boring, but true
  12. There’s cameras in there, and more cameras can be installed. Ban people for acts of vandalism. It being the SOS isn’t exactly a good excuse
  13. I think it’s a perfectly sensible idea. But it wouldn’t fly in Mackemland
  14. Don’t think it would arse anyone - until England fail. Then the pitchforks would be out.
  15. Yep, the FA love a yes man. It’s the same crusty old Etonian types who’ve been there since its inception - they don’t want to be challenged.
  16. There’s plenty wrong with it, but happily for us the FA hasn’t punished him any further. I’m happy that he’s back soon, and hopefully he never does anything this daft again.
  17. If only every other manager in history had faced an international field as sparsely populated with top sides as it is currently. Other than France, there isn’t a single international side from a major football nation which looks anything like its past self. Argentina, Brazil, Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy - not one is of a particularly great vintage. Relatively speaking, England is stronger than it’s ever been. If this side wins nothing given what it is up against, Southgate goes down as a failure.
  18. Yep, I just don’t think that there is a ‘correct’ way to select a manager. Other than them being good.
  19. Joelinton likely is now, but we know he was on just over £70k per week thanks to his day in court
  20. £100k per week for Targett was always the reported figure, but the club don’t produce individual player’s wage packets, so we don’t know for sure
