  1. 100% - he’s one of the few players who’d be brave enough to try again so soon afterwards. It’s an ‘elite’ player mentality the lad has.
  2. I think you make valid points regularly along with a few of the other stats-minded lads and lasses, and I enjoy reading them (even if my mind doesn’t bend that way). But I think your timing is off in this instance - just absorb and enjoy the fucking insanity we just watch and conduct a post-mortem later. None of which means you’re right or wrong - but no-one is going to be on that wavelength 👍
  3. It’s a football truism, but they look like they’re in a false position to me - they should be absolutely comfortable this season. edit: also agree re Leeds being a much, much bigger and better game than playing good sides from nothing places.
  4. Yep, they kept on coming. I can respect that 100% - it’s how I’d want my club to play. Just have a go - English football is becoming a borefest without it. I’m less arsed about technical perfection the older I get - just have a crack.
  5. Yin and Yang rebalanced and the universe is correcting itself again
  6. Those 0-0s can become 0-1s and 0-2a very quickly
  7. Leeds absolutely kept coming at us, even when we were 3-2 down. I hate the cunts but they made a proper game of it - would rather more teams showed some bollocks and went for it.
  8. It was a couple of days before Xmas - we went down to Arsenal a few days before and won there too. I broke a seat at Highbury celebrating (an accident, not vandalism). I won’t tell Arsenal if you don’t.
  9. Yeah, it’s right up there for me too - two really good sides going head-to-head, winner goes top of the table, and real venom between both sets of supporters.
  10. The IFAB guidance to the laws state that it isn’t handball provided that the ball hits the supporting arm. His ball moved towards the ball rather to the ground for support.
  11. Oof fucking hell - that’s a hell of a ground to make your ‘debut’ in. Last time I went was in 2003 - there was a bloke selling National Front badges outside the ground. Summed the cunts up for me. Nasty, nasty place to go - they kicked the shit out of my uncle outside the ground in the 93/94 season. Which is a story many can tell of course - except my uncle had severe MD and was walking stiffly with a walking stick. Any NUFC supporter who doesn’t have an inbuilt dislike of Leeds must be under 30 I reckon
  12. Got you. My view would be after a game as crackers as that one - and against a club that many of us older lads have a genuine decades-long dislike for - it’s almost beyond analysis. Matches like that are what make the game so great - proper end-to-end with multiple comebacks and a last-gasp winner. Sometimes the heart should just make the head go quiet.
  13. Winning epic games in a shaky fashion is definitely better than losing while dominating possession
  14. I was in the away end - you can see me exchanging pleasantries with Bowyer when he scored. Absolute fucking chaos in the away end with the winner. Worst part was getting the bus back to Leeds train station - me and a mate hopped on a Leeds supporter bus back to it. Never been more nervous in my life.
  15. The 4-3 wins against Villa, Leicester, Leeds (a), West Ham and Norwich stick in the mind - and in all of those games except Villa we won on 90+ mins.
  16. I’m of an age where it’ll likely always be Beardsley - but fucking hell he has to be right up there
  17. The spin on the ball from it being delivered with the outside of the boot absolutely fundamental to it going in - it spins and curls off Joelinton’s head
  18. Absolutely. He doesn’t let his head drop when he isn’t playing well - the lad is an absolute winner. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a player in B&W with that sort of mentality to that degree.
