Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)
TheBrownBottle replied to Ronson333's topic in Football
MOTM for me, regardless of context of him being a kid covering out of position -
Fucking hell man, the square ball to Barnes isn’t anything like a difficult pass
-
Sadly, that’s unlikely to stop now with a real change in form / output.
-
I don’t remember Barnes being this poor after signing from Leicester. So it we’re judging them by the same measure, Elanga has been shit.
-
The bigger issue for me re that late chance (though not squaring it is poor play) is the fact that he’s a fresh sub vs a not so fresh Cucarella and he isn’t capable of knocking the ball ten yards ahead and skinning him for pace
-
If you were confident we were winning that at HT, then you weren’t in the same pub as me. There’s a mentality problem in the squad and Howe needs to sort it quickly. First half we looked like what I think a Howe NUFC side looks like - second half was what we’re becoming.

Shit refereeing but fuck knows what was said at HT there. Shite. -
Willock and Wilson weren’t signed by Howe

Can it be any worse than the last 25 years they’ve endured? Ashley’s aim will be to get them back into the top flight and then cream off the commercially while offering fuck all ambition. To us that sounds like purgatory, to Sheff Wed it might not
-
Yeah, agreed on all counts

I hope so - at the minute the poor sod just looks like someone needs to put him out of misery

I think the man needs a new scouting team
-
And if they’re pulling back funding on WC stadiums in KSA, from super duper ‘best in class’ stadiums to more understated and affordable ones (also of course having already won the bid for the WC on the back of said promises), then what does that mean for the prospect of serious investment at SJP / new stadium? It also should be noted that they’ve asked for the designs to be resubmitted. No half a decade of deliberating on those stadiums, then? Funny how they can get their act together for this, but for NUFC it’s all ‘careful consultation’ blather.
-
Here’s what I posted in another thread the other week: - Put some money in - brag about how big it’ll be - watch as people speculate how much you’ll put in - put it in hiatus and hope it disappears quietly That’s the standard route for KSA ‘investments’.

The Grauniad doesn’t have a paywall

Haha it’s almost as if it was predictable …

Again, at the match - or directly on social media - offering up moans and grumbles and abuse at players is unlikely to produce better results. On an internet forum, where said player would have to find it first then search for his own name, sorry like what do they think they’re going to find? We appear to have signed a £55m confidence player - and I think that’s on our scouting team seemingly doing fuck all due diligence rather than the lad himself. The lad looks completely bereft at the minute and I genuinely feel sorry for him, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s the third (I think) most expensive signing in our history and even the on-form version of him at Forest wasn’t producing £55m worth of output. The transfer currently has all the hallmarks of being a disastrous one, so quite rightly people are not going to be happy, though I think that frustration is aimed in the wrong direction - the question really should be who thought that this kid was worth paying that sum for?

Third highest turnover in world football. Unless every sad case from Dublin to Delhi who ‘supports’ Man Utd moves on, then the club will never, ever be in danger from the rules it introduced. Face it - the cunts who own your club have made sure that you hammer the final nail in football being a sporting competition.
-
The point is that given how fucked Man Utd’s transfer policy has been, it isn’t fucked enough under PSR to spend megabucks against clubs who - until that point - had an almost perfect record. Our transfer policy last window has likely fucked us next year - but Amorim could have another season like last year and Man Utd could do exactly the same again. I don’t even see how it’s an argument - the likes of the Glazers have de-risked their leveraged investment to the point that any ambitious club below them is fucked if they don’t have a perfect record in recruitment. This isn’t even a conspiracy theory - it’s the entire purpose of PSR.

Thought he looked like he truly cared vs the Mackems, and was our MOTM vs Fulham I was born in 1982 - those reading can work out who I’ve seen from that point - Bruno has to be up there with the likes of Beardsley in terms of top players I’ve seen in B&W at this point.

Ageed - hardly the lad’s fault, but he gave the ball away cheaply near the corner quite a few times. Forgiveneas for errors - correctly - is more forthcoming when you’re one step up from amateur. -
Man Utd has made more mistakes than any club on the planet and can still blow us out the water with Sesko (thank you for that btw). So yes, the rules are absolutely in place to de-risk everything for the likes of the plastic mancs.
