Does anyone know if you'd need a ticket for a 2 (nearly 3) year old? The only answer that comes close to answering it on the Club's FAQs is about juniors under 16 (I forget the exact age) needing to be supervised at all times. I mean that's a given considering he's 2, but no mention of needing a ticket. Whilst I've never taken my son to a match before, I've worked at sporting venues in the past and under 3's are usually permitted on a parent's knee without the need of a ticket.

Best bet is Northern Quarter / Stephenson Sq. There are plenty of great places around there. Marble Arch Bay Horse Crown & Kettle (about 5 mins up the road from Victoria) Port Street Beer House Mackie Mayor (like an upmarket food hall-style place). From there, you can likely walk to one of a couple of Metrolink stops - New Islington is probably best. Tip for the Metro link. Don't get off at the Etihad. Get on an Ashton tram and get off at Velopark if you can. Only about 2 mins walk from the away end entrance. Because of all the construction work at the Etihad at the moment, if you get off at Etihad, you'll have to walk for a while to get to the South Stand entrance.

In your defence, there wasn't the micro-focus there was now on any player who has a decent game. If a wonderkid has a good game now, it goes viral all over social media - 'remember the name'. Didn't really have that in the early 00s, outside of the UCL regulars.

To be fair, they have a ticket exchange available to Seasoncard holders. These seats get released to general sale once the match sells out.
