Newcastle United 0-0 Crystal Palace; post match frustration from p26
tomlynnherrington replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
It was always going to be a struggle if we picked up injuries to key players. We all knew, including Eddie I would like to think, that our back up players aren’t good enough.I class Murphy,Longstaff,Fraser,Krafth,Manquillo and Lascelles as back up players.Chuck in Miggy,Big Joe and Willock and we are well off being a medium to good team. With regards to that missed chance by Willock late in the second half,it looked like he shit himself in case a tackle/block come in so he snatched at it.I’m undecided at the moment whether he gets a place in my all time worst eleven. As good as any I’ve watched regarding missing easy chances,or should that be bad? -

Did Eddie prefer playing with 10 men when he was managing Bournemouth? Is that why they were relegated? -

Fraser and Miggy are there to add a spark offensively. This leaves Big Joe,Longstaff and Willock to do what? Big Joe to be a nuisance and what? This leaves Willock and Longstaff.??? -

Eddie knew last season that we had a handful of squad players who weren’t good enough to fill if we were to pick up injuries. We can only surmise they couldn’t be moved on. -

He sees someone who contributes very little in games and someone who is reluctant to get involved where it can hurt (blocking shots, going for headers etc) -

No,as opposed to that right lazy fucker who usually plays in front of Trippier ? -

He’s predominantly right footed so I’d expect more and better crosses from his stronger foot.We may need someone closing Zaha down as soon as he gets receives the ball.He always looks like their only ‘outlet’ when they’re defending. -

If Zaha is playing down our right then I’d like to see Fraser in front of Trippier.Fraser will give 100% support. -
He mustn’t have been hard enough, nee mention of him.Even their ex groundsman was a hard bastard ??? They really are ‘different’.

Big Ray.Apparently the hardest in the Fulwell in day’s gone by,maybe still is today. All mags were and maybe still are scared of him.So they’re saying on the Legends Of The Fulwell thread. Cannot say I’ve heard of him.Anyone else not heard of this rock hard mackem bastard?

If 3-4 changes are down to fatigue, they won’t be in defence surely. The post I was replying to highlighted fatigue.
