  1. I cant imagine anyone who doesnt want to wake up to Pards, the absolute fanny magnet.

    Dogawful Officiating

In this case, incompetence is a far simpler explanation than conspiracy. However, you cant rule out bias from anyone's thought or actions, its supposedly programmed into us when it comes to important social issues, means its hardwired into a referee no matter how objective they think they are. If we cant escape bias in our thinking, its hard to see how referees remove. The irony (?) here is that if a referee makes a decision that a fanbase disagrees with (rightfully or wrongly), then the fanbase proceeds to batter the ref on social media, acting like bellends in some circumstances, i could then forgive some refs for not being able to remove their unconscious bias against that team. You call me worse than a cunt on twitter and threaten my family, i'm holding that grudge forever even if you pay me not to. Not saying bias played any part in the decisions this weekend, just pointing out how hard it is to be able to dismiss that in preference for a competence / conspiracy explanation.
  3. According to Winter's logic, as the ball is in play on average 60 minutes per match, there should be an average of 30 minutes of added time every match. Such failures of logic can occur when you're wrapped up in your own narrative.
  4. Because to make the point succinctly you just have to say how Ba was deployed, rather than saying 'how would you describe that'. Added to harumphing and irritation that this completely resolved question has come up again and that you cant be bothered with it, dont be surprised if it comes over as patronising. I was looking forward to hearing your thoughts, you essentially came back with 'i cant be bothered to engage with you, use the search function and read my posts i've covered it before'. Its a bit snooty mate.
  5. Is this where you argue Pardew was a forward thinking coach? Why dont you just say what you think instead of using slightly patronising rhetoric? (that's not irony either).
  6. Too much of a whirlwind for me to discern exactly what they do and how they do it.
  7. Thats obvious, what isnt is that Howe will start ASM, Wilson, Isak and Almiron with Almiron starting essentially in midfield.
  8. Interesting. I dont think Eddie will start all 4 of them together but he could do. We will have to wait and see.
  9. Hope used to post on the previous incarnation of this board back in the early 2000s. I had a bit of crack on with him back then before he was a journalist. Nature of the job and all that.
  10. Its not going round in circles for me, the player has just joined and we havent seen him play in the first 11 with a fully fit squad. These are open questions so if they have been answered 'elsewhere' you could just point to where that is. You seem reluctant to nail your colours to the mast.
  11. Prone to mistakes in the last few games. Made up for it with goal line clearances at Brighton, got away with a couple at Wolves. He made a bad mistake and he was the one that gave the ball back to Liverpool from just outside the box which led to the corner and second goal. He had his head in his hands when the ball went out for the corner. Great player but was surprised to see chat about Joelinton crossing it, Trippier gave the ball away in our own half. Needs to cut out these mistakes.
  12. Premiums are paid for English players from English clubs as clubs are competing with each other and have the resources to over spend on players. When the sense of competition increases, for whatever reason, the premium increases / willingness to do business decreases. There have been no transfers between Liverpool and City since Sterling in 2015. They are unwilling to do business with each other, clearly.
  13. I bet there is loads of nuance left out of the article as its clear from watching Botman and Burn that Burn has some advantages in his playing style over Botman in a tight relegation battle (that never really came). He's more intimidating and physical for now and knew what it takes to succeed in the premier league. I think signing Burn then Botman was overall a better strategy than signing Botman alone for a higher price in Jan.
  14. Isak's pressing was very well executed at Anfield but Miggy puts in a lot of defensive work too. Be interesting to see how and when Eddie plays ASM, Wilson and Isak together.
  15. That didn't answer the question to be fair so maybe you have elsewhere. If Wilson is fit, does he replace Almiron? If he plays off Wilson as you suggest above, do we then need to change the system or not? As playing 'off the front man' is not Almiron's role. Or does he go wide and then also put the defensive shift that in that we expect from Almiron. Reasonable questions iyam and having read the transfer thread, i am pretty sure repetition isn't frowned upon.
  16. I'm just glad he knows that he wont share it. If he wasn't sure about that, that might have caused some confusion.
  17. How do Isak and Wilson fit in the same team? Looked like an out and out striker last night. Replaces Almiron in our first 11?
  18. I think he could be related to Nacho Varga, who is Mexican like Jimenez.
  19. Intelligent pressing last night, fitted straight into the team. Utter baller.
