Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
Ed Vinegar replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
In the Reddit thread about the Gayle interview there was a Hull fan saying he was arguably their best ever manager. Felt sorry for them. If you look at his record there, he got them promoted, survived one PL season, lost the FA cup final and then lost in the playoffs of their first European campaign. Then got them relegated the next season. He's fucking dogshit as a manager and a nasty cunt to boot. Gayle was as nice as could be in that interview, hardly gave him a shoeing. -

My boss, not a big football man, mentioned to me in a meeting today how happy he was for us and then specifically called out Bruno as someone who'd won his admiration when he'd seen the highlights. Feels weirdly nice to have work colleagues randomly do something like that. Also just refound this from a chat with my Hearts supporting pal just after the Isak goal. He was so confident we would win I had to keep telling him to zip it. -

I will never get tired of watching Dan Burn score our first cup final goal in my lifetime. The perfect player to do it. Also Tonali tying his bootlaces in the 97th minute was iconic. Such nonchalance, he knew it was in the bag if they kept up what they were doing. Can't believe how emotional I'm still feeling two days on. -

TBF by his usual standards this is barely bitter at all. There's almost a detectable note of admiration between bringing up the Saudis and moaning about our celeb fans enjoying themselves. -
Hearing him talk about Howe in his post-match interview - love the guy. What a player.

The goals we conceded in the second half were pure shite. Just lazy, reckless defending. The third in particular was minging. If we're going to sit back we can't do that.
-
Glad we won; difficult to understand what went on in that second half. Felt awful watching it.
-
Great work from Willock for the 4th goal. Was fully prepared to be miserable this afternoon but I'm right cheered up now.

Birmingham City 2-3 Newcastle United [FAC4] (08/02/25)

Birmingham made that very difficult for us, good to see us do the business. First half was absolutely crackers. -
I think he'd be a good option. He'd work in our system. He's scored a decent number of goals this season too. I really admire how quickly he gets shots off - his hat trick against us were all almost snapshots but very well placed and with a lot of power. Good technique.

Ah feck

Just pure sloppiness there. Shite from Gordon.
-
Tonali and Joelinton have been half decent but not much help when everyone else is miles off it.
-
If we're in the race then Bournemouth are too tbf.

We just look like we've got no defensive answer to them. And our attackers are knackered. We'll be lucky if this doesn't end 1-4.
