Superb win. It's happening for you lads this season. I'm sure of it. Hearts 1 Livingston 0 tonight, btw. Sets us up for our League Cup semi final vs. Rangers at Hampden on Sunday. We led 0-1 until the 90th at Ibrox last Sunday but couldn't hold out. Regardless, it was a sound performance and, with 20k Jambos heading for Glasgow, I'm confident we'll shock them. It's Heart of Midlothian's 150th anniversary in January and to celebrate it with the League Cup in our hands would be superb. H'way the lads. All the best for the rest of the season.

Garang should have had a bit more game time but I'm not convinced (the now sacked) Robbie Neilson was too keen. Says a lot more about the latter, btw. He did well in the short bursts he did get. Great first touch and very quick. I'd take him back at Heart of Midlothian next season but it would appear to be a non-starter. He's only 18, new to the UK and will, I'm sure, turn out to be a fine signing for Newcastle United in time. All the best in the Champions League next season and the quest for that elusive silverware.

Pleased for Garang tonight. Hopefully he'll be unleashed from the start in Saturday's derby. FTHibs.

Many at Tynecastle were surprised Koul didn't get on yesterday. Stevie Naismith made some much needed changes to the team and formation including a rare start for our Japanese striker, Oda. 6-0 after an hour was the cue for multiple subs (gave the last half hour a pre-season friendly feel) but no Koul. No idea what's going on, tbh. The Scottish Premier can be a bit quick and haphazard for newbies but the lad has played at a World Cup. There are rumours of dressing room rifts under Neilson but, again, difficult to see how much a young lad can be involved in such things. Anyway, here's to a few more Newcastle goals in the 2nd half.

Just seen the latest score. Wow. You lads have outdone Hearts yesterday. 4-0 ahead vs. Ross County at HT, 6-1 FT. No appearance for Koul again.

In other news, and Newcastle related, Garang Kuol came on as a sub for Hearts yesterday. Lightening quick and hit the bar with a fine effort. Very unlucky not to open his account. He's been used sparingly in the last few weeks but looks promising. A full season at Heart of Midlothian (the World's greatest football club) next term will be great for the lad if his loan can be extended. Group stage European football will probably be included.

Hi. Hearts supporter here and regular contributor to Jambos Kickback. I've always had a wee soft spot for the magpies and really wanted the right result for you lads and lassies today. I posted as such on JKB yesterday and was, within minutes, challenged by a Sunderland fan. Hearts went 36 years without silverware until we finally won the Scottish Cup in 1998. A fantastic weekend that was repeated in 2006 and 2012. The latter a 5-1 hammering of the city neighbours, Hibs. It's a matter of time before Geordie's experience the same. All the best. martoon.
