They still think that we are basically PSG. Buying overpaid stars and firing their managers for not winning CL.
-
There will be some variance, I know. I'm just saying that generally if fatigue is already a huge problem, it is a huge cause of concern, because generally we will be even more tired in the next few weeks as we will have an even tighter schedule. I think Howe will be analyzing the Everton game to figure out what we could've done better, like he did against Bournemouth.
-
Against Spurs in particular we can probably get a result regardless considering their form, I can agree on that. But the amount of days between each game has to be relevant when we're going from 5 days rest before the last 2, to 3 days rest in the next 4 games, right? Generally that should make us even more tired than we have been. The whole reason as to why we experience fatigue is the amount of days between each match. So I would be surprised if our overall performance will be better in the next ones than the one against Everton if that was just down to fatigue, because we will be even more tired in a couple of week.

If we play with the same energy as we did against Manchester United then I will be a little bit confused trying to see how we played 90 minutes being tired psychically and mentally all game 3 days before, yes. I guess it would be a pleasant surprise, though.
-
Everton had a bunch of chances already in the first 30 minutes of the game. They missed some really big ones, especially the DCL one. I couldn't believe how it was still 0-0.

Ben Parkinson up front for me. Just because I like the name.

Yes that's what I'm trying to say. And saying that last game was a bad day at the office is (I truly believe that) is also a way of staying positive, because that means we can really bounce back again. So I actually hope that it wasn't mainly down to fatigue.
-
I think that was our point all along. We didn't play as well as we could have, and that was not just down to fatigue.
-
How are we going to be any less tired against Spurs and Milan in the next 6 days? Don't we just lose then? That's the point. If this is all fatigue, then I don't see how we are going to put up a fight in those games at all, and we will be even more tired than yesterday. I'm still waiting for an explanation to that. People seem to not have an answer to that if they resort to personal attacks instead.
-
I'm being just as simplistic as some of those who blame the loss on fatigue, just to make a point. I myself believe that there is a lot of factors in play, and us not playing as well as we could yesterday is a big one. That's why I think we can bounce back.
-
What's wrong? I truly believe that people who just blame last nights performance on fatigue are actually the negative ones, because if that's the case then that pretty much means that we're royally screwed going forward. If fatigue was just a factor, and we just had a pretty bad day at the office on top of it, then we can bounce back.
-
If having our 2 latest games with 5 days rest before each game is the biggest reason as to why we had less than half the xG of what Everton had, then ofcourse I'm not positive about the next games where we have 3 days to rest between games. Unless fatigue actually wasn't the biggest factor.
-
Are we magically not going to be tired anymore all of a sudden? If we are this tired already from 2 games in the last 9 days, we will just be more and more tired for each game.
-
Well, if we are as tired as people say, we're going to lose every single game in december. Unless we get several players back really soon.
-
I had this crazy glitch in the matrix moment today, because before the game when I was thinking about Dubravka and worried about him making mistakes I thought about how few outright stupid mistakes that we have made this season. For a moment I thought "well, we don't have mistake have players that are prone to mistakes", but then I remembered some of Trippiers moments from last season (not that he's very prone to them, but they happen). This was right before the game. I guess it's my fault what happened today. They seem to happen sometimes with him, but can't really be too harsh on him considering what he usually does.
-
I looked it up. Against Dortmund 10 different users were saying "tired" and 6 different users were saying "fatigue". Does fatigue also explain that 1st half today?
-
Okay. So it's impossible that we don't play as good as we can with the energy that we have available?
-
I said "Just feels a bit like we blame almost every loss on fatigue right now." You see the "right now"? As in the latest losses, like Dortmund, Bournemouth, Everton.
-
Missed the point. I'm saying that we can't just automatically blame defeats on fatigue only nomatter what, even in our current situation. It's still possible to play better. Do you think we should just blame any bad performance in december on fatigue, nomatter how the games go? We can already confirm in advance that the team will play as well as they possibly can in every game in december then.
-
McTominay?
-
That doesn't mean that there is never any other reason for our losses than fatigue.
-
Just feels a bit like we blame almost every loss on fatigue right now. Fatigue is surely a bit of a factor, but other teams has to play a lot of games aswell.. It's not like we ever say "good game by us, but they were so tired" when we win against a team who is playing a lot of games. Not that Everton plays a lot of games, but generally.
-
You realise that our home vs away record is by far the biggest night and day difference out of any team in the league?
-
I can see how it can look like that, but it's not the point. I'm just confused as to why the difference is so big, can it be fatigue as the only reason? But wouldn't fatigue also affect our home form? We demolished Chelsea and Man Utd at home recently. I guess the next games could clear that up for me, if we look just as tired against Spurs and Milan.
-
I was honestly expecting us to struggle against Man Utd because the forum kept going on about how everyone was exhausted, but we played with lots of energy. Maybe they were just very very bad though.
