  1. Arsenal have to sign a striker
  2. Give Amorim what he wants.
  3. Like I’d rather lose a top star because a club has paid £100m (or OTT price), then lose one because we’ve made signings and had to accept a shit deal (like the rumoured Gordon nonsense with Gomez).
  4. I’m not worrried about any top players going. All got good deals and if they do go, it’s for very big sums and football moves on. You then back the club structure to improve the squad as a result and then we have new stars to enjoy.
  5. I assume it’s all part of future spend in summer and us being proactive with sales for once. No point keeping players when they’re not really contributing to the season in a positive way.

    Joelinton

Think it’s because he’s getting the ball more / being asked to receive ball more, in areas that he’s not good at and not used too. Pressing from the front, charging with the ball, superb, but the traditional midfield stuff of pass and move from inside your half is not his game. And as sides give us more of the ball to use as a trigger press, he will be one to target. Wouldn’t be getting rid, but he should be on rotation with someone else for that LCM spot next season.
  7. Same as Barkley, who was lauded in same way for an amazing deal. Odd glimpse and impact, largely irrelevant, with high wages for seasons to come. Only fall back this time for Villa in short term, Asensio is a short loan.
  8. It’s an insane amount of wages, on players who are a mixture of hot/cold and aging. It’s the type of deals people thought we would do, and I’m glad we haven’t done. Good for 2 months, then left with him for many more months afterwards.

    Joe Willock

He’s a player for me that if he started 5 in a row, we see the best of him, coming off bench or odd start here and there, nothing. Which makes it tough because he’s a good squad player in some ways, but others not. If an offer of circa £20m is there in summer, he’ll be off.
  10. No. Think it was a player Howe wanted, was low cost and turns out to not be any good. So Mitchell as part of evaluating squad likely worked with Howe and marked him as one of many to be sold within 12 months if a deal is there. Almiron / Willock / Longstaff / Trippier / Wilson / Kelly / Targett / Krafth. They will all be the ones that are moved on by end of August 2025.
  11. It’s probably one of those that’s easily achieved, like ours for Hall. So basically Juventus finish top 10-12 they make it permanent, which will happen.
  12. Glad Kelly is off. He’s very average, offers nothing to us and would’ve just been a tough body to get rid of in future. This has Mitchell finger prints all over getting rid of players for good fees that don’t improve the XI.
  13. Villa have an excuse of UCL comedown, we’re having a full weeks prep and still fucking it. All well and good others dropping points, but we should have a lead to hold onto, a la Forest.
  14. Rashford will be a very good signing for Villa. Amazing how many people lap up the negative narrative around him. Why couldn’t we sign him for that ffs.
  15. Tough to take, because the XI we have out should be beating Fulham. Something off about us in these home games, but expect it to be different against Arsenal. Dreading Forest home game

    Lewis Hall

He’s singled out because his covering CB is Burn who has literally no pace, and Gordon is asked to stay high. Has nothing to do with Hall, just the set up and personnel alongside him, makes its route to attack for teams if they’ve got pace on the right.
  17. We essentially have to beat Man City and Forest to have any chance.
  18. We’re not making Europe with these home fuck ups. Too much of an ask to win the big games away.
  19. Trippier and Willock subs off bench. It’s a bad bench.
  20. Sigh. We are too often not at the races in winnable home games.
  21. Must be fucked body wise to go for that little and no-one in prem making a move. Know his contract ends this summer, but that’s a good fee for a squad player.

    Paul Mitchell

The other key thing is to nail every signing who’s part of first team squad because of the tight PSR situation, which you could argue up to this point, we have done which has enabled us to challenge top 4. Like Barnes people will argue the opposite, but we’ve got use out of him when needed. Osula is the questionable one, but back end of this season and start of next will decide that one, in same way as Hall.
  23. I’m not fussed about Tomori. Wasn’t liked at all for England, no clubs have really made a move until spurs in their desperate situation. Had that one season peak at AC Milan. Likely an alright player, but not someone to lose sleep over when looking for a long term RCB.
  24. I'd also be surprised if he would want to still play in English game after this season. Clearly can't cope, so probably a season abroad to experience something else, get injured and retire.
  25. Wilson has no right to be starting games ahead of Osula. If he can get back fit, it’s to come off bench as an experienced head (but probably do something stupid again like last time and rip his tit muscle) or to chase a goal and a poacher required.
