James and Palmer are elite players who can create something from nothing, so it’s important they are heavily man marked. That scenario, and Garnacho v Miley and Gordon v Musto will be also key to where the early momentum goes in this game.

I just want a technical player that can take the ball on half turn in tight spaces. Those type of players can completely change an attack with one pass by taking players out of the game. Said it a while back, but I swear we hardly ever get free kicks in around the centre of the box, because we never have the ball in those areas to be fouled there.

I’m delighted for Murphy, but it’s very concerning that with 18 months left on his deal and him only going to lose that half of yard speed, that we are no closer to transitioning away from that type of play. He’s such a key player, that we are almost going to have to give him a new deal, rather than sell in summer.
